ive been watching these videos obsessively... you guys do such a great job... i gotta say if you hadnt posted this specific video id have really screwed up! im 2 weeks into my th400 rebuild ...what you guys do in two minutes takes me 4 hours haha but im learning... my trans is burned up trash... itd be cool if you could cover something extensively damaged like this... ive learned most of the parts and what they do but being able to poinpoint the source of failure would be a great thing to learn

Extensively damaged units definitely require more time cleaning. And when you're dealing with a governor (super-sensitive device that's partially responsible for up-shits/down-shifts), cleanliness is critical. Identifying the root cause of failure is important, for sure. Would love to do a video series on how the TH400 works. But, I'm already knee deep in alligators, with the GM 4L60E. The positive feedback is appreciated. Once again, congrats on your successful build.

@@SouthpawAutoworks thank you... i was running out of content.. i think im low key obsessed with the 400 .... its back on the bench getting a 4l80e drum with 36 ele sprag, red clutches rollerizing the rear case... and a homebrew dual feed mod... im unreasonably excited to see how this goes! I hope you love your career, because this is becoming a hobby i love... but not a jobby sadly :D

This kit only came with one wave plate. Which drum is best to use it in? The wave plate that was in the drum already is a plate that’s crowned and not waved. Without it my clearance is too much. Should I put the crowned one then the wave then friction and So on?

Hi guys, love your work and have watched all of your th400 videos. I have a question regarding center support seal rings. Recently I received a rebuild kit that has the scarf cut red teflon (or plastic) seal rings. I've not used these before. They are narrower in the groove than the interlocking steel rings. Are you familiar with these? Being narrower ok? Thanks!
