TH400 Speedo Drive Gear Install

Great video! My son and I are putting in a th400 that had a freeze plug in place of the speedometer assembly. Now we know how to do the installation.

I have the same speedo gear for my 70 Chevelle. However, I installed 15” wheels. You said I’d have to go with a different sized speedo gear, but do I have to change the gear on the trans shaft for the larger speedo gear too?

The little o ring does the groove go in or out then c clip

Do I have to remove the rear cover to install the drive gear?

No, I had mine on the bench and did this before I installed it. I only took off the rear cover to show you what the inside looks like when you replace it. You can do this with the trans in the car and hooked up.
