I got very lucky. Did speedo housing gear and o ring. Shop gave me too large a ring I carefully cut it to size used some right stuff to hold o ring and reinstalled has not leaked again.

You changed the actual housing? I changed the gear and the o ring and it stopped leaking for a little while. But now leak is back.
