To me Tha Carter 2 is Wayne's best work and I remember the Lil Wayne era, every feature he was on he's killing it I still remember the first time I seen the Got Money video it was a world premier on 106 & Park and I remember his BET Awards performance he did with T-Pain that was the day that I called him my favorite rapper and if I ever want to be a rapper I'm following his blueprint Lil Wayne definitely one of my top 5. Speaking of top 5, here's my top 5 songs off the album 1. Comfortable 2. Mr. Carter 3. Tie My Hands 4. Mrs. Officer 5. Let The Beat Build

NOBODY was selling a million plus first week back in 2008. Everybody had limewire and datpiff had just started taking off. For him to do that then when even pop and country albums weren’t going platinum bc of piracy shows how everyone respected Wayne enough to go out and buy the CD. We knew it was a classic before we heard the first word. I bought it the day it came out. It was in a red case and the track listing on the back wasn’t right so it came with a paper insert with the correct track listing.

This is back when he was “Weezy f. Baby”.. back when he was hungry.. “the rapper eater”. Back when he repped Hollygrove and it made me feel like I was from there lol. You had to be there to understand the impact. The flow, delivery, bars, creativity was so unmatched and everybody in the rap game knew it. Like EVERYONE. He literally jumped on anyone’s song (or the remix) and it literally wasn’t their song anymore. And don’t let me get started on the chemistry between him and Juelz. The flick of the lighter before he set the booth on fire.. smh 🤦🏾‍♂️. This video brought back so many great memories, I literally fought back tears. Truly my favorite rapper ever and idc what anyone says he’s still the best rapper alive 🐐

13:01 Tha Carter III: The Rebirth. The Birth Of A New Beginning was gonna be another version of Tha Carter III with a mix of new songs and songs that were supposed to be on the original Tha Carter III album. Lil Wayne said "I don't know if we're gonna release Tha Carter IV now," "I think we're gonna release Tha Carter III - a new Carter III with none of the same songs, though. None of them. Not one! We don't wanna call the [next album] we got coming out Tha Carter IV. That was the dilemma we were in. We want Carter IV to be what everybody wants it to be. This is something brand-new, so we don't want it to be some experimental thing, cause some people are not gonna like this. I don't want them to not like Tha Carter IV. But I do have an album coming soon, very soon, and it's gonna be called ... Tha Carter III: The Rebirth. The birth of a new beginning."
