From London On Canada Been riding a Honda VT1100 for 20 yrs. Finally bought my 1st Harley. Watching your videos make self maintenance seem easy. Pick up my 2018 Sport Glide Wednesday, just in time to store for winter. But will most definitely ride like the wind in 2024

Another great video. I'm from Connecticut. My friends and I all own 2020 Harleys. I used to ride a TriGlide but I decided to go back to two wheels and bought a Lowrider. We ride about 4k to 5k miles in the winter as long as the roads are clear. Fortunately, we had hardly any snow this winter and the roads were free of salt, sand and chemicals. I should add, the first mods we make to our bikes is to have a Gerbing wiring harness install for our heated gear. I highly recommend Gerbing gear - Jacket liner, pants liner, gloves and boot liner. We've been out in the single digits and warm as toast. Beats sitting inside looking out the window waiting for spring!

I'm in Oklahoma City and for the most part, weather permitting I get to ride year round. I put less miles on my bike during the winter, but the weather is mild enough here that I do ride in all of the months of winter.... Now watch us have a bad winter. LOL. Great video and I will use it when I do my next service....

DC. Good video. In Colorado a lot of riders are down several months. For me the cold isn't much of a deterrent. It's the snow and ice that shut me down. With that said I ride every chance I get. So no winterizing for me. Just regular maintenance. Take care.

BCB SILVER HAWK Thanks for sharing! We had negatives for temps consistently, plus all the salt on the roads doesn’t do well on parts of the motorcycle. Sadly, the bike sits and way too long for my liking.
@bcbsilverhawk84265 жыл бұрын
@@DCyclemoto Yeah the salt back east sucks. They started using salt in combination with mag chloride here in Colorado last year. We typically do not have many issues so long as you clean up you vehicle once the roads clear. With that said I'm pretty unhappy that salt is being used. I speculate that in the coming years we will see a lot more issues with rust and corrosion than in years past. Take care.

Nice video. However you should consider using a primary specific fluid either from amsoil or redline instead of using 20w50 engine oil. You'll have much better clutch performance and smoother operation. Not to mention a cooler operation temperature.

I'm in Dallas so much of the worst riding weather is mid summer when it's hot as hell. The last couple winters have been mild, climate change ya know. I don't ride when it gets close to freezing because of the risk of ice on the road. Some folks around here leave their sprinklers running all year long.

Great video! I have a 2018 Heritage Classic 114, changed the primary lube last week; used Harley Formula +. Shifting is effected for the better since the lube is thinner than some; clutch action is improved by the quick synchronization allowed by the lower viscosity. Highly recommended!

I’m up just outside of Chicago, so I know what you’re saying about the fair weather riders. I’m not really planning on winterizing my FLSB this year, fluids are fairly fresh, maybe 1,000 on them and I’ll find the occasional warmer day to get out and cruise around.

Mine will go into the shed in the next week or two and probably not come out until April or May. I will wait for all the sand, salt, and brine to be washed off the roads. I also have to wait for sorry portions of my driveway to firm up. Last spring my Rocket 3 sank a little bit. Was a muddy mess getting it out, mud was flying everywhere. I still have about 2500 miles to go until my next 3 hole so I'll wait until spring. I want to see if I have fluid seeping from my transmission to my main. Had issues last spring in my first fluid change with low transmission fluid levels. The 17s are having issues with it.
@DCyclemoto5 жыл бұрын
Yeah the road treatments and salt can cause problems if it isn’t washed off. May as well wait until its over and save some wear and tear.
