I just made this. It tastes amazing even though I didn't have the Kaffir leaves. (I used dried lime powder)

It’s really good. I added a little more stock because it wasn’t enough to cover my veg and I also added puff tofu, green beans and snow peas. I used xylitol as auger but to be honest it could also be yum without any sugar. This could also be a vegan recipe - substitute the fish sauce and chicken stock veggie cubes.

@DH Your Harvard study knowledge is astounding. It was bought to be shut down in the 1950's. In the 90's Brandeis looked at it and was shocked. I know you will believe what you choose, and so will I. That's ok.

I had this delicious soup yesterday in a, Thai restaurant we favor. I forget how much I love it. Is there a more simple way to make it? I can not use chili's and don't care for mushrooms.

OMG I just cooked it and I can't believe how it tastes so authentic. I had this soup in a Thai restaurant in Phu Quoc and felt in love with it but thought I would never be able to replicate. Thank you very much for this video, now I am your fan xxx The only thing for me I found a bit salty. Can it be the fish sauce overpowered or salt itself? I am in Vietnam and maybe fish sauce is more concentrated. Thank you again!

My dear friend, Choo Chai (Ritileucha Preconchai) was a famous Mui Thai Boxing champion in Thailand. He was a good man and a friend of The King. I learned many things from him, and his wife ( Pranom). I enjoyed our video.

I actually made that recipe but accidentally. I had initially planned to cook tom yum but substituted the shrimp with chicken. It's almost same ingredients and the process. Tom yum chicken..
@SpoonForkHeart6 жыл бұрын
Hahaa, very very similar :-)
@allandevera87656 жыл бұрын
The beauty of thai cooking is that with the same basic ingredients you can create so many variations just by removing, adding, or substituting any of the ingredients. If you don't like coconut cream you can replace it with milk. If there's no galangal in your area you can put ginger. If there's no kaffir leaves you can add lemon grinds. You can even put potatoes and carrots if you like more volume in the soup. You can replace shrimp with chicken or beef or fish or anytthing you want. If you are a vegetarian just leave out the meat part, you can put tofu. If you don't have spring onions put leeks. Any kind of chili is good also. You can make creamy or clear soup. You can adjust anything in that same process. That's the genius of tom yum cooking.

Hello was wondering if I could just use ginger? I can't get galangal
@jeffrieizzudin7939 Жыл бұрын
Better dont use ginger if you dont have galangal it taste different.Galangal taste not so strong like ginger.I think it still ok for this soup if you dont have galangal.
