You’ve done a great job, saving your Monstera. Love the new growth! The roots remind me of orchid roots.

Whoever got this top cutting is so lucky :O Thai is more expensive than albo top cutting here in Sweden. Albo is kinda cheap now.. damn!
@ajacosta25792 жыл бұрын
Yea.. that was a BIG cutting for what she traded for in return. She’s happy with her trade that’s all that matters. It’s a cute lil plant

I would never swap a thai constellation for an albo , i just bought a baby thai con it was alot of money i have 3 albos bought 2 of them as 2 leave rooted plants and 1 as a 2 leaf unrooted did not cost anywhere as near the price of a thai. I know its everyones preference but your trade was worth alot more than what you got in return😢someone was very lucky getting your thai 👏🏻🌱🌿🍀

I just bought a baby Thai Constellation and spent probably too much for something with leaves smaller than my thumb... lol! They are still very expensive! Costa Farms hasn't released any Thais as far as I know. Mine is in a small cup with spaghnum moss. I bought some good aroid soilless mix which I'm going to transplant mine into in a few weeks. This plant makes me nervous! Enjoyed your video!

I can’t wait to see updates on your Albo! Also, seeing the progress on your Thai over a year gives me so much hope for mine. Mine was a struggle in the beginning and just now is pushing out a new leaf after MONTHS. Definitely looking forward to it looking as massive as yours! 🙂

I got my first one and it rotted after I took it out of PON and put it in coco. I am trying to rehab the roots that's left. I will have to start all over with it. I know you have had heck with yours so it gives me inspiration.
@hennesseyme91124 ай бұрын
My first plant did go to the pearly gates, but I learned a few things. If I put the plant in Pon, that is where it will stay. The vendor told me that PON root are too light for cocopeat which is heavier and that is what caused my plant to say goodbye. I got another one and one day after watering, the original soil and all of the roots came of together. I almost cried but I had one growth point. I put it in water but was scared it would rot, so I put it in Fluval Stratum and that thing is like magic to Constellations and Albo's. Today I have a beautiful full plant with several large leaves that don't think I am brave enough to prop so big up to you Marianne! I now keep my plant in a wonderful aroid mix I found on Etsy that has biochar, worm castings, and compost. If anyone reading this is having trouble with their plant rooting, please try Fluval Stratum before it starts to rot. I am also propping my Albo for the first time. The arial roots on Albo's grow much faster, and along the stem than Constellations. I mixed Fluval Stratum and tree fern fiber and it making the roots on my prob go bonkers. I guess the outside temps does not hurt either. As for Marianne, I enjoy watching this lady refuse to let her plant die. Once you get a Constellation established, it will make you love it more so don't give up on it.

Great video. Thai con is so much nicer in my opinion and actually more interesting. I have an albo. It has its own humidifier to keep the leaves from browning. I also have a no touch rule on the white parts , I would gladly trade it for the Thai constellation any day !!!!
@ProximaCentauri882 жыл бұрын
I heard that Thai Con has a more stable variegation than Albo. The Albo if left unchecked indoors could revert to green.

I feel this is a cautionary tail in not messing with your plants too much 😆 Just pick a method and stick with it, these things take time! I will say for anyone watching this and thinking about switching to LECA/or possibly put off by this video - LECA is great, I love it, I'm never going back to soil BUT always start your plant off in water first. Let it get a nice big water root system before popping it into LECA, especially if it was a cutting or started in soil. I've seen the best results this way, best growth, fastest root systems, no pests - LECA is great

I have a feeling that as soon as the thais are in the stores they will all be bought up in one day to be re sold . I really don't think costa farms has enough of them otherwise they would have been released last year. The same thing happened with the albo alocasias they had them for one day lol

@sandrarodriguez21152 жыл бұрын
i was wondering after you let the roots callus did you transfer to only sphagnum moss in the terra cotta pot or did you put another substrate with the moss when there was only one leaf left. My thai is also yellowing and i want to save it please help 🙏

Hi! I loved your video. I am currently struggling with root rot on my thai constellation. After putting it in moss. Did you keep it high humidity and heating mat and only watered when the moss was dry? Thank you for your help.
@missperry9539 Жыл бұрын
Moss is the only thing that saved my young Thai. I tried water and aroid soil and they both made it rot. I cut off most of the root, put it in spag and the root system took off. I literally watch the roots every day, they are growing so fast.
@smellsfishy51872 жыл бұрын
A question please, how do you water a pot full of sphagnum moss with plants in it? Dont they get super dripping wet if you water them like you would normally with soil medium? Haven’t ever tried rooting in moss, im new.

Not really considering the sheer amount of rot that it came with. I'd have contacted the seller right away after receiving a plant in a state like this. I'd never sell any plant, let alone a pricey one, in that bad of a condition.

Nice video - but it is not a Thai Constellation Monstera, it’s a Monstera Thai Constellation. Monstera is the genus and the TC the variation.
