Funniest Thailand experience / story ever.. 🤣He just wasn't lucky and not prepared at all.. Thailand wasn't his thing to begin with and that's it.. Dude compares Spain and Greece with Thailand.. there's the entire problem.. If you go to Thailand and expect to not be scammed at least a couple of times.. You're not prepared for it.. If you go there for the same things you got back home.. Why booking a flight to Thailand in the first place ?? 🙆‍♂.. Just stay in Communist Europe.. Enjoy the rain, the cold, pickpockets, migrants, feminism.. Thailand is not for everybody ..

The guy is obviously biased and somewhat embittered by all the negative experiences, and the things he's saying are obviously present but of course not for the entirety of Thailand. They're obviously normal and genuinely good people in Thailand just like anywhere else, in his case shortly summarized he simply got the short end of the stick. A combination of having overhyped expectations of an almost delusional kind and other factors led to this story.

GDP per capita in Thailand is 7000 USD making the average salary about 500 USD/month so yes it's a cheap country BUT you can't go to tourist traps and major cities where you're living like the top 10%. The only real cheap things are rent and labor so unless you're taking advantage of those don't expect Thailand to be cheap.

Remove all prostitution in Thailand and see how many who go there . Og course its far from the cheapest and best quality for the money there . If you look at tourism in South East Asia , Thailand is no.1 anda Malaysia no.2 but Malaysia dont have all that night life and prostitution as Thailand . No.3 Singapore who are why mote expensive but also better quality and more organized . The test have less tourists than several highly cost European countries . People are different with different likes, economy and condition .

Sounds like a Paris syndrome... Thailand was cheap 25 years ago. But still now it's possible to have good deals. For example, a taxi took me from Bangkok 313 kilometres far (and drove back alone) for only 3000 Baht. I paid more from Zurich main train station to home (about 12 kilometres).

I was in Thailand 2011, i hated it. January. To hot, and the week i was there, a major week holidays. Everything closed including all major landmarks. No desire to return. I did meet a thai girl, took her to vietnam for a week. And no she wasn't a bar girl. But played with her in viet.

As expected alot of people knocking this guy and a lot of what he said is true regardless of you dyed in the wool Beer Chang tee shirt types up in arms. He's not coming back so no more steak dinners and wine for some "old boiler" from Nana. To some degree he is a victim of his own circustances but some of the "ladies" really do take the piss but strike while the irons hot is their motto, so in conclusion caveat emptor.

This is a perfect example of not doing your own research about a place you plan to visit and only taking other people word for it. First of all thanks for reading ot the story but this guy comes across as a person who thinks he is far better than everyone else in my opinion Yes a small number of people try to overcharge you for things like taxis but name a country where that does not happen to tourist. I went to pattaya in december just gone and i can honestly say they people are amazing, once you understand that the bar girls are working and trying to earn money it makes things much easier. I am looking forward to my next trip back to thailand and it can't come soon enough

He is right. You have to ask for prices everywhere which is pretty annoying. Otherwise you end paying 400 baht for a noodlesoup at a market. Taxis i gave up and rent now always bikes or cars. Hotels have fake pictures and fake reviews. So you should book always only one night. If you avoid phuket pattaya etc and have your own ride you still can have a nice time in Thailand. Otherwise you just ripped off. Btw. Bali is much worse

Thailand has real poverty in most of the country. My neighbors can't afford gas so they cook with charcoal. Many such cases.
