I often travel to Thailand. In fact, without speaking it fluently, I manage to express myself, read, and write a few words in Thai. But this is the very first time I’ve heard of a scam of this kind. That said, this lady would have tricked me for the 2,500 baht as well, but she would have hit a snag because I would have demanded, before entering the restaurant, that she tell me who would be responsible for paying - especially since she claimed to have forgotten her card… Thank you for sharing this story!

People can watch all the videos and still get into these situations. I think it's human nature that you have to experience this for yourself and then it starts to make sense. Yes it some money enough to get his attention but not enough to really mess up his vacation. Some of the girls may want to go to expensive restaurants & clubs because the get a kickback.

People need to realize that 99.99% of these girls aren't trustworthy. There's a good reason they're doing this work and not something respectful like a real job. Ofcourse, there are exceptions but those are not the norm. You'll have a difficult time finding a good girl at such a place. And the older you are the more likely it is you'll get scammed.

Sounds a bit spurious, thailand was still pretty much locked down until july 22 and not fully open until the September of the same year, i would hardly say it was bustling, there was still a lot of restrictions in place including having a negative pcr test to enter the country Im not sure when the persons supposedly friend went but had just got back when the story starts, i was there all over covid and it wasn’t a good place to be
