As an Indonesian, I'm surprised that you can speak Indonesian so good. I understand what you said.. It's a 9.5/10... Maybe if you have time, try to visit other places in Indonesia too. So that you could learn accents there.. If you don't get what I mean, it's like.. for the word "Saya", in Papua, we use "Sa"... Or in Jakarta, it's "Gue"... There's more, and I hope you can learn those, if you have time of course...

This was inspiring for me. I have been trying to learn Spanish for my personal interests but I am also made to learn Japanese in school which I am bad at remember at. It definitely makes me feel like, and I know it’s cliché, but with motivation, it’s possible. I’ve been feeling like for ages that I will never get better at my Japanese because I’m not capable since I’ve been learning for 5 years in school and can Beasley read anything. This videos helps a lot and I do realise I need to practise outside of school more.

@@polyglotgrace you are on the right track. You need to know the rule before knowing how and when to break it. Likewise, learning the formal Indonesian language gives you the foundation to pick up the vernacular words and slangs. Mind you though, city dwellers invent slangs faster than most people can keep up. So there it that.

@Алешандре no, the original commenter was correct. for the english anyway. unless the person uses a strong accent and the country’s specific slang and cultural changes, you should use the flag of origin of the language. for example, english’s origin is ENGLAND 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (UK 🇬🇧) therefore it should always be represented by these flags, unless american english specifically is used, with its cultural changes and accent, only then would you maybe use the USA flag. america simply adopted the language. it is not “americanglish” it’s “english”. she only used the word “mom”, everything else was not american, it was not super english either, but the way she pronounced certain words did lean more so traditional english in my opinion therefore it would be more correct to use the proper flag of the languages origin.
