Used to make this without the aromatics since nakikita ko to usually sa mga thai series. Nilalagyan q nlg ng Sriracha sauce for the spice. Then topped with sunny side up na parang silog. Loved it.

Hi Chef RV. Thanks muli sa mga posts mo. Sa ibang mga Los Angeles Thai Restaurants, tawag nila rito ay Ka-Pow. I have a different version nito. Asian Fusion. I add Red Chili Paste and Powder. For the green chili, I use Jalapeños. I serve it sa family ko ng either Vietnamese Rice Sheet or Boiled Cabbage. Ang rice hinahalo ko sa Meat then binabalot. Gaya ng Laging sabi mo, Whatever floats your boat. Kung saan ka masaya.

For the people confused about *basil in the Philippines* Sweet basil is *Balanoy* in Tagalog and Holy basil is *Sulasi or tulsi* . The sulasi/tulsi (Ocimum Tenuiflorum) is what is used in Thai cuisine, while Sweet basil (Ocimum Basilicum) is used in western cuisine. If you can find native Asian sulasi basil then you can make any Thai dish as it fits better than Balanoy. Pero only people who know herbs very well might know which they have haha. So better pag mahilig ka sa Asian food magtanim ka ng sulasi/tulsi and not balanoy. In Thailand they use 3 types of basil; -One that is similar to western basil, simply called *Thai basil* (Ocimum basilicum var. thyrsiflora) It is very versatile, but since it is more similar to western sweet basil, it bears a different flavour. Still okay to use. It’s like right in between sulasi/tulsi and western sweet basil. - One called *Thai Holy Basil* which is found in a lot of Thai foods and very popular called *Kaphrao, sulasi/tulsi.* (Ocimum Tenuiflorum) You might recognise it from Pad Kaphrao, which is what Chef RV made today. -One that is less used called Lemon Basil. Like the name suggests, it has some citrus characteristics. Thai people love citrus and sour food just as much as we Filipinos do, but when you already use citrus fruits and lemongrass, there really is no need to add another citrus element, thus it is simply not so popular. Edit: I’m not a herbalist, I just love food and plants.

For Kuya RV it is a good idea to scout Facebook and look for some local Biñan herb sellers. Maybe to plant some holy basil in the Manabat Garden hehe. Will definitely come in handy!
