Welcome to my favourite part of my favourite district in Thailand. From the mangroves to the salt flats to the glorious beaches, sampling seafood on the way..... and just a smattering of history.... join us (my son and I) as we 'wander' along the coast of Phetchaburi, finishing at Hat Chao Samran Beach - the place I got married - before heading to the town of Phetchaburi (aka Phetburi, muang Phet, City of Desserts, Ancient Kingdom of "Pribpri" (พริบพรี)). #history #thailand #jbwanders #exploring If you enjoy the content and would like to help fuel the wanders: buymeacoffee.com/jimmybyrne

Those salt farmers are very hard-working people. ❤ dealing with brutal hot weather 😢 and smells salty air though your nose and eyes.

Phetchaburi coast line, a must visit for me JB, thank you for showcasing it. Birds a new business venture instead of harvesting salt ? How was the ribs , missing some steam rice for me though.

You're very welcome mate... Birds nest soup mate. It's big business. The ribs were great - sticky, tangy and melt from the bone

Loved this video JB. This looks like the type of beach side town that I want to retire to. What would The Roaming cook say about your choice of Ribs for dinner?

Hi JB, can the salt farmers turn the salty land and raise salt water fish & crab instead?
@JBWanders7315 күн бұрын
I don't think so in this particular area Panna. It's a protected area due to the mangroves and the long history of the salt flats. I think they probably need to be given some tax breaks and help from the Government in terms of prices etc. However, some families have opened restaraunts and some have "fake caves" to make birds nest (soup) - which are four or five-storey concrete buildings with air holes but no windows.
