Nope, that's the 2 year, no questions asked, free to run your own business, healthcare thrown in one they give to illegal immigrants from MOU countries for $180. And the bonus is you can get everything from bank accounts to super bikes and trucks on credit with that one as well!

@fivebats105 ай бұрын
Yeah me too, if you leave and come back within the first 180 days you wouldn't get a new 180 days, just continue with the first visa, and then pay 10000 Baht after 180 days to get the extension .. and repeat

Do I have to have any type of long term visa in order to stay in Thailand for as long as I want? Since the new Thai visa rules allow me to stay in Thailand for 60 days on each entry. I wouldn't mind going in & out of the country every 60 days, unless I never want to leave Thailand. Why would I bother getting a retirement visa while I still have to do a 90 days report, and 1 year extension with all the fees and hassles.. I am lucky that I opened a Thai bank account many years ago while I was staying in Thailand with a ED- Visa. I just turned 50 years old last year. So, I decided to move to Thailand, and here I am. I just came to Thailand last month on June 24th 2024. I just moved into a condo with a 1 year lease contract, and got my new phone, and a new re-issued ATM card from my Thai bank account. I'm all good to go! I was in the middle of considering whether I should apply for an None O- visa or not since now that we are allowed to stay here for 60 days.. . Please tell me your thoughts. Thank you! BTW, love your channel 😊

How long do you need to have 500,000 Thai Baht in your bank account before applying for the dtv visa?When first applying for the retirement visa, you need the money in your account for at least two months before application.

Interesting that they did NOT include the term "self-employed" ! So it seems that you could spend nearly 5 years in Country simply by going out of Country every 6 months for a Visa run. But I did read elsewhere that each annual extension will cost you another 10K Baht, so 60K Baht over 5 years (~ $1 USD per day). Also interesting is that the graphic (image of Thailand) in the "Where to Apply" section points out Phuket.

I don't see this DTV being the golden chalice like people seem to think it will be. They will realize eventually how it will be taken advantage of and either discontinue or amend it where it will be worthless. They never seem to think things through just like the cannabis legislation.

I'm confused about the DTV 5 yr visa vs the elite visa for 5 yrs. Do I understand this properly. I can stay in Thailand for 180 days, leave for 1 day then reenter and stay for another 180 days? and do this over and over again for 5 years. Or is it I can only stay for 180 days in Thailand in a given yr? From what I understand, I can only stay 180 days in a given yr. Which is not that good if I want to live full time.
@fernando-77705 ай бұрын
After 60 Days an extension of another 30 Days (just as previously) ????? And then 2 x Border runs (as previously)???? That would end up in much more than the allowed 180 days of stay per year without a visa. So we can be sure, that the extension will be canceled or the border run will be limited to 1 time!
@sarlina15 ай бұрын
1. There is no maximum 180 days rule. Thousands of expats stay longer than that as a tourist every year. This is up to the discretion of every immigration officer, and your passport history. 2. The 60 days visa exemption can be extended with 30 days. That is confirmed.
@ricovalentino17595 ай бұрын
