Budget did change which was to be expected, but even with an increase in tourism it’s not a huge change when you take in the gyms and eating out twice each day

We found our place on Booking.com - airbnb has a lot of expensive places. There are also much better short-term rentals you can find once you're on the island depending how long you're planning on staying

82 for the bike is not a better deal, that is even above the standard price of 2500-3000 lol. You can buy one second hand for 20-25K it is earned back in no-time.

It is my understanding, but I am a noob at this, that eating out is cheaper than cooking your own food. Thats why all the kitchens in condos and houses in Thailand are usually quite small.

Yea it's a common misconception just because eating out is generally great value. But if you really do go to markets and buy fresh vegetables, noodles etc it will be cheaper. Of course then you have to factor in the time cost for cooking, the healthiness of the cheaper food and other such stuff

My husband took me there snorkeling, after we did some business at Chaing Mai night market. I loved it, and think about taking some time there again, to save money. Is it true ex-pats are taxed on their social security income since 2023?
