It's amazing how similar food is across south east asia but with different names. In India we have exact same products but different names n veg/non veg options. For eg the egg omelette is called Appe n can hve veg/non veg fillings, the mochi ice cream is similar to kulfi, the big round roasted pita bread is similar to Indian papad which is roasted crisp n made from different flours. Stuffed buns are Pattice with different fillings, but India doesn't have any equivalent of the dancing shrimp.
@HungryTwoTravel2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, it's very interesting to see how different foods span across different countries. We find it shows you how boarders are really just lines on a map, food and cultures can transcend these. We would love to come to India someday and experience the food and culture! Thanks so much for watching and commenting😊

Kanon Jak got its name from the leaves that hold the sticky rice inside. The leaves were from a "Jak"tree which is belong to palm family found in mangroove area.

Our thoughts exactly 😉 we loved exploring the night market in Phuket, so many different foods to try it was hard to choose! Thanks so much for watching :)
My two choices for the one bite seafood omelette would be baby octopus and prawn or oyster if they have any. Mochi ice cream is easy to found now a day in any places. Kanom Jak is lengthy sweet rice dessert wrapped I think they looks like pandan leaves?? Khao Kriap Wow is like huge tortilla topped with black sesame seed. Never heard of fried pizza and they sure don't looks like one except the topping is the stuffing. Not sure if I want to eat the dancing shrimp salad considering they're raw and still alive. The fish pancake is typical Japanese sweet treat. Look more like fish cake corn dog rather than sausage. Mango Yogurt is cool drink to end my night as well.
@HungryTwoTravel2 жыл бұрын
Hey Hing-Cheong! Good choice for the omelette! The kanom jak was wrapped in a coconut leaf. Good description of the fried pizza, also the dancing shrimps were very unique but super tasty and spicy!
