The 'visa' you describe as Visa On Arrival, isn't actually a visa on arrival, it's a visa exemption - it allows citizens of certain countries to access Thailand for a max of 30 days without any sort of visa. There is a visa on arrival available for citizens of certain countries that aren't granted visa exemption status, but they have to pay for this - whereas visa exemption is free (as long as your passport is 'on the list')

I will be travelling to Thailand on March 4, then exiting march 11 to Cambodia and Vietnam and then returning to Thailand on the 20th to finally exit the region in the 21st. I’m Mexican citizen and hoping to be granted an on arrival visa for both stays

I'm glad I stumbled across this video, I arrived in Bangkok a week ago from England on a 60 day multiple entry visa and I was assuming I could do the 60 days, then get it extended, then pop to another country for a short trip, then come back and do it all again, I just needed affirmation that my perception of how it works was correct.

Great video. For the retirement visa you can mix and match - so 800k in a Thai bank 2 months prior to extension and 3 months after or 65k per month from abroad (must have proof it came from abroad) or a combination eg 400k in bank and 32.5k a month etc. Depending on which immigration office there are other local conditions that must be met. The tricky part is opening a Thai bank account - thats a vlog in itself 😱

100% each visa has its own requirements. To list them all would make the video a bit too long we think! But there’s a heap of ways to do it and there’s some great content out there from others that dives deeper into each visa and tips and tricks for each. Done plenty of research on a Thai bank account and still pretty confused 😂😂

There are no retirement visas just an extension of the visa with retirement being the reason
@brexpatfarang37806 ай бұрын
@petersutherland1985 OA is a retirement visa. O can cover many things including as you say retirement reason. I agree it visas become extension of stays - however this terminology often adds to confusion for those starting out

Great information guys and congrats with the growth of your channel. But you mentioned a visa on arrival, which isn't the case. what you were mentioning is called a 30-day visa exemption. A visa on arrival is basically where people come to Thailand and at sight, the customs will see which visa is best applied to you and is eligible for some countries. I'm from the Netherlands and always got the 30-day visa exemption. Not the visa on arrival

Very informative and helpful . Some of it is the same for Canadians, but we seem to only be able to get the 30 day visa on arrival. At least that is what I've been able to fjnd with my research.

Once the new 90 day on arrival visa gets approved, that might be an option as well. I am on a Retirement visa as I am 52. Suggest using an agent for ease of process.

I wonder what will happen to those who paid money for a 60 day visa? Maybe if they triple the 30 days they should triple the 60 days also to 180 days 😁

We’d also recommend finding an agent for convenience & ease of process 🙏 I wonder when the 90 day VOA will get approved?! Hopefully soon!

Note: You cannot enter more than twice with the multi-entry visa. Its limited to 2 entries.

Hi, sorry to be stupid but if I have an Australian passport valid for 10 years do I need to get a new passport (with new photo) each time I want to visit Thailand outside the six month period? Thankyou
@franclyspeaking6 ай бұрын
Hey mate! All good! Based on my understanding of what you’re asking, you only need to get a passport sized photo (like from aus post) to submit with your visa application and passport. (They put your photo on the visa that is stuck in your passport, hence why it is required) Hope this helps 😊🙏

Can you do multi entry if you enter first in vietnam and later thailand? or should be done in your country and enter flight to BKK?
@franclyspeaking6 ай бұрын
Not 100% sure on this one, but you need to enter Thailand within 3 months of visa issuance… I’d make an educated guess that you can go to Vietnam first as long as you enter Thailand soon after. This might be a good question to reach out to the Thai consulate with just to be sure 🙏
@steve-o21986 ай бұрын
Good info, I am pretty sure that on the multiple entry tourist visa you can only extend once for the visa and not each time you enter, please someone tell me I am wrong as I am on this visa. You should only extend at the end of the visa, exit and reenter a day before expiry to get another 60 days and then extend for another 30 days.
@franclyspeaking6 ай бұрын
Hey! Yeah so I (Sarah) thought the same thing about the multi entry but I couldn’t find any solid info on it…. We could most definitely be wrong on it. We’re only doing the extension once as we want to see more of SEA.
@kohtime6 ай бұрын
There is an expectation that you can get 270 days out of a multi entry if timed right…. Many have done and documented this so I’d have to presume you can extend each entry by 30 days…
@marcanthonyskidmore41316 ай бұрын
Two Entries per visa. Cannot enter a third time.
@steve-o21986 ай бұрын
@@marcanthonyskidmore4131 this is not true, you can enter as many times as you want via air as long as your visa is valid, you can only do two land border entries in a year I believe. I know this is true as I have asked many visa agents about this as I was worried about it also.
@kohtime6 ай бұрын
@@marcanthonyskidmore4131 how come? I thought u can get entry up until the expiry date… if so and you cut each trip short by a few days you can still gain entry for 60 days up until that date?
