I stayed for a year+ in Thailand (from March 2022 to May 2023) mostly with 60 days tourist visa (that I extended 30 days every time), one 30 days and one 45 days stamp. I also got a special tourist visa, unfortunately I wasn't able to extend it because the promotion had ended when it was time to extend, anyway I got 90 days there. The key is to get your visa online, when you're at the immigration at the airport they can't turn you back if you already have a Visa. It's worth noting that I am Canadian too, for some reason that Canadian passport really is a blessing.

The story regarding the visa runs. The man did two land border runs then a flight to Malaysia. Firstly it depends on the Immigration Officer you encounter. Secondly it depends on how many days you are out of the country. Basically if you fly in and fly out and spend a few days in the country you have left too you won't have a problem. If you are doing same day border runs it will flag with immigration. I have a marriage visa so do it the correct way and always have but many people don't have that option. If you fly out after 60 days with the extension it's advisable to spend a week or so in the other country. The current rule is two land border runs per year and as many fly in and out as you want. I would expect the man who contacted you just flew to Malaysia and got the next flight back into Thailand.

My last visit to the Philippine's i stayed 3 years 8 months. had tourist visa entire time after 3 years had to Visa run to Malasia. as long as you can pay for your new stamp all is gold.

Multi entry tourist visa is a decent option for someone under 50 that wants to stay a long-ish time without studying. It allows you unlimited entries into Thailand during the validity if the visa, which is 6 months. Every time you get 60 days which you can extend another 30 days. It's possible to stay almost 9 months if you plan your entries and exits right. I am currently on that visa myself and I have had no issues.

It sounds as if anything other than visiting and the doing a short extension via a visa agent or by way of a boarder run by flight, well I mean other than those then everything gets complicated, expensive, annoying, risky etc etc. go for your cold winter months. Go home for your summer months as it’s raining there anyway. Plus you likely need to make more money and also catch up with friends and family. Basically a snowbird. All other long term stays sound like a nightmare

Peter The guy in the fourth story is wrong. The embassies stopped verifying income for visa's some years back. Immigration now requires you to get a letter from a Thai bank showing you have the required income of 65k, or the 400k or 800k for your Thai visa.

Things are more strict now and i am hoping the govt will realize how much foreigners spend while in Thailand and how good it is for the economy, and am hoping they will get back to a more relaxed visa process much like before. Aber na ja egal , vielleicht wolltest du es ja in Englisch schreiben. Zweitens zu deinem heutigen Video.Ich hab meine Frau , es ist meine Frau , obwohl wir nicht verheiratet sind das kommt auch dazu , warum immer gleich heiraten ?, Ich hab sie auch über eine Datting App kennengelernt. Wo ist das Problem ? Man muß das alles nur richtig abschecken. Als erstes bei den ersten Telefonaten , hab ich sie gefragt , ob sie Kinder hat ? Denn mit Kindern hätte ich sie erst gar nicht genommen , ich meine noch jüngere Kinder. Hab ich aber auch zu ihr gesagt , ich war von vorn herein brutal ehrlich mit allem und hab gesagt was ich denk und wie ich mir alles vorstelle , denn ich wollte in Thailand leben , zu 100 % , Also mein Ziel war glasklar und meine Entscheidung das zu tun war es auch. Denn irgendwann muß man mal eine Entscheidung treffen und diese dann auch durchziehen. So ,und ich hab es durchgezogen. Ganz klar und absolut ehrlich gesagt , das ich nicht dazu da bin die Familie zu unterstützen mit meiner Rente. Sondern das wir, und sie hat auch noch gute Einkünfte , unser Geld zusammen legen müssen wenn wir zusammen in Thailand leben wollen. Das es nur so geht , und nicht anders , Punkt. Und das von dem Rest Geld , also von mir , nichts angerührt wird und auf meinem Thailändischen Bankkonto bleibt , denn mit ihrem Geld und meinem zusammen sind wir auf das andere Geld nicht angewiesen. Das ist nur der Notnagel für alle Fälle., Punkt. So , dann hab ich sie gefragt willst du diesen Weg mit mir so gehen , ja oder nein ? Die Antwort war ja , weil sie einfach ein ruhiges Leben haben will , ohne irgendwelche falsche Spielchen. Sie war absolut ehrlich mir gegenüber und hat mir ihr Leben auf den Tisch gelegt. Da ich zu diesem Zeitpunkt 2016 sowieso mit einem Freund das erste Mal nach Thailand wollte und sie sich zu diesem Zeitpunkt in Deutschland aufhielt , bei einem Teil der Familie , fragte ich sie einfach so spontan , ob wir uns in Thailand nicht treffen könnten. Wir , mein Freund und ich flogen nach Koh Samui im Oktober und meine Frau flog im September wieder zurück . Okay , sagte ich zu ihr und fragte sie daraufhin , ob wir uns in Koh Samui treffen würden.? So , und jetzt ging ich ein Risiko ein . Ich bezahlte den Flug von Suvarnabuhmi nach Koh Samui und buchte ihr ein kleines Hotel , in der Nähe unseres Hotel's. Aber ich dachte mir , was hab ich schon zu verlieren , wenn es nicht funktioniert ? Ein Flug von Suvarnabuhm nach Koh Samui nicht die Welt , und das Hotel auch nicht. Sollte es nicht hinhauen mit uns , na dann hat sie ihr Hotel und einen kleinen Urlaub und ist für sich und ich ebenso. Man muß auch mal was riskieren. Und was soll ich sagen , wir verstanden uns von Anfang an. Wie als wenn wir uns schon länger kennen würden. Und daraus sind jetzt 6 Jahre geworden. Aber wir haben zusammen unseren Plan verfolgt und alles über 6 Jahre gut vorbereitet. Jedes Jahr etwas gemacht um den Traum den sie und ich hatten in die Tat umzusetzen. Erst lange Zeit in einem winzigen Condo gewohnt , für 4000 Baht im Monat , aber mit Pool und Security. Dann ein Motorcycle gekauft. Wieder ein Jahr später , Konto eröffnet in Thailand. Dann nach einem Häuschen , einem schönen Platz umgeschaut. Bis wir , und das war genau das Budget das ich ausgeben wollte für ein Haus , nämlich 1.500.000 Baht , bis wir dies auch fanden. Ohne zu Bauen , neu renoviert und wir sind Happy. Dann wieder gewartet und nach und nach die Möbel gekauft. Und man braucht nicht viel um sich wohl zu fühlen. Der letzte Schritt , ist jetzt ein kleines Auto , einen guten soliden japanischen Kleinwagen und dann haben wir alles. Und das meine ich damit Steve , such dir eine Frau die nicht soviel jünger ist , glaub mir das geht wieder nicht gut. Du wirst vermutlich wieder in die gleiche Falle geraten. Meine Frau ist 8 Jahre jünger und sie steht fest im Leben. Lass das bleiben , und such nach so jemandem. Und vor allen Dingen laß sie in Thailand , und Versuch sie nicht zu überreden nach Deutschland zu kommen , viele wollen das gar nicht , meine übrigens auch nicht., Sie liebt Thailand , sie liebt ihr Land. Und eine gute ältere Frau mach mit dir auch keine Spielchen mehr , und sie wird das verkraften und auf dich warten Und vielleicht sagst du dann ja auch später , ich werde ganz rübergehen mit einer tollen und immer noch etwas jüngerem Frau , als du es bist.lass dir das mal durch den Kopf gehen und Versuch auch mal einen anderen Weg einzuschlagen. Man muß sich auch einfach Mal entscheiden was man macht und auch mal ein Risiko eingehen , auch wenn man dann die soziale Hängematte verlässt. Ohne dieses gewisse Maß an Risiko , kommst du nie voran. So , und entweder geht sie diesen Weg mit , oder nicht. Wenn nicht dann ist es auch nicht die richtige. Du bist schon wieder auf dem Holzweg mit deinen Gedankengängen. Du denkst genauso wie vorher ,. Sorry aber dann kann man dir nicht mehr helfen. Auf deutsch gesagt , dann mach den gleichen Scheiß wieder , denn genauso hört es sich wieder an bei dir. You didn't say what country you're from but if you're from somewhere in Europe America Australia somewhere like that you can come in on a tourist visa for 30 days and have it extended for a further 30 days I've never had a Filipino girlfriend so I can't help you with a second part of your question sorry
