We had several girls employed in the service and some of their friends would often hang about with them when they were not busy. Hi, I have been here for about 3 years. And yes, money and material things are daily topics for most Thais, from the top to the bottom of society. Many of them don't talk about money in front of us. But between them, it will not pass 1 minute before they mention how much something costs, how much they are going to get, what they are buying, what they bought, etrc The other 2 topics are food and gossip. they don't about movies, ideas, history, experiences, books. In a FB group someone wrote down. "Have you ever seen a Thai reading a book?" ( and of course not ) and the answers were mind blowing! Be aware the group I was talking varies. From people working in the market(s), neighboards and professionals that went through university

I have been lucky when I was in Pattaya only 2 sexworkers ask me to buy gold for them. I said no, and they never brought it up again, simple as that and they stayed with me. What they go through is not worth it for me. The attitude and selfishness are astounding. Date short term and do not get anyone pregnant. Dating western women and Philipinas has worked out well for me. We are both here short term and have something to lose. Im sorry to hear about your situation, Dan. You seem isolated in the countryside and going through the motions of being alone in a community that doesn't understand. Im also in a similar situation because of my job. What i do is go into bangkok once a month and get together with some foreign friends. This helps a lot. Hua Hin would be a great move. There's a sizable community of expats down there. Sometimes, you need to just sit down and have a casual beer with someone from your homeland to put things into perspective.

Dan, it's like the old saying, "All the world is a stage." I know this game well. I was a tour guide for Japanese tourism in Guam and Saipan. I did exactly what these Thia girls are still doing today. I remember having one girl buy me a car and another taking me on vacations to Japan and so forth. Back then, I was young, good-looking, and fun to be with. Then I got old, and the game was over. Now, 30 years later, I'm the one paying for the company. It's just a very addictive game. I’m Gerry from Boston USA, we’ve chatted briefly before and you ran one of my funny takes ( the time I won one for team Farang;) ) First I’d like to tell you1; your Chanel does more than just help simps, it does do that but your channel is so much more. A big draw of the show is you! People like you Dan! You’ve got a great story telling ability and you’re very personable, you come across as blue-collar scholar type. The type of guy most men have as a friend to meet at the pub or to watch a football game with! Just know that going back to the U.K. After 8 years in Thailand , especially in the winter, will NOT be easy! I spent 2010-2012 in Thailand and then returned to cold, gray, gloomy Boston. If you think you “ don’t fit in” now.. take that feeling and multiply it by 100 when you unpack back in the UK. If you do go back, try to wait til summer time so the transition is less of a shock! When I went back to the USA after 2 years I felt like a visitor from another planet, that on top of the deprivation of sunlight led to a serious bout of depression… talk about “ not fitting in” Fast forward I happen to be on holiday at the moment in BKK with my 2, 1/2 Thai kids, aged 8 & 4, their Thai mom stayed home in USA to run the restaurant… I got lucky and got a good one with great business sense and she’s help up her hotness very well… but not to say the relationship is not without challenges, fights, and the occasional display of madness from her…. But truth be told in my educated opinion ALL women are prone to occasional bouts of madness, not only Thais. But Dan people do like you and like to hear what you and your boy are up to! You’ve got again base who love you man! I hope you stick it out there! I also do not want to see you give up the channel, I still have 3 or 4 epic tales of my own adventures in the Land of Smiles that I’d like to share. I came here 9 months ago, I'm 43 and live in Jomtien, ill be doing an education visa now my borders runs are limited. I've only been with 2 girls from the bars, and that was beer fueled. I woke up and couldn't wait for the door to be closed on them. If you want a girl, make sure she's from a 7 eleven or has a job and is willing to chip in on the rent, etc.. don't become a leg for a leach, and remember what Dan is saying. He's spot on. I am not surprised you are sick of it, it can be a brutal place to live but so can the rest of the world. 8 years is a very long stint. I am 64 and retired about 8 years ago, so have been spending 6 months a year living in Thailand for a number of years now and every time I return to Thailand it is great for about 4 months then it seems to get me down. I live with the same lady while in Thailand (we have been together for over 3 years) but you are 100% right it’s not a nice feeling when you feel you are like an atm. The lady I am with NEVER asks for anything and never expects anything from me but I feel emotionally obliged to help her out even though she is financially independent. I have a strict budget and a daily routine which helps immensely to keep my sanity but I do enjoy going home to the real world. Trouble is I am now caught between two worlds, both of which I really enjoy. Could I ever move permanently to Thailand? Ummmm maybe, maybe not 🤔

All it does is tie you down and takes away from the Fun of being yourself while going out and about. I don’t go to Bars much but do try to meet them while working out, at cafes or walking. When I meet one I’ll say hey let’s have some coffee or some food and chat. If that goes good then I’ll just go with the flow of it and if things happen then they happen. But I always stick to a 2 day rule and that is about it. Good Video Mate!

My girlfriend has never tricked me for money, nor cheated on me (her phone is always open and she always shows me her phone to prove she is loyal, i'm 100% sure she wasn't talking to anyone, but you never know huh) but last night on the way home, for no reason, she started slapping me in the face (3 times), then leaned back in the car to position herself to kick me in the face twice! Of course I go out and told her not to come to the home. This morning a load of abusive messages saying what a bad man I am etc etc still refuses to apologize and admit she did wrong (usual pattern is to go AWOL for 3 days then come back with some BS reason, me and my English neighbour laugh about it because his Thai missus does the same). It's done for me and I have no feeling now, but Dan, I still can never understand why they can never admit they did wrong. Can you?

Hey Dan. I’ve been watching your show for years. I might not be the typical viewer who needs to watch this channel for advice going to Thailand, but rather I just watch it since it’s highly entertaining. There are people whose lives you’ve saved with this channel and that is something that should give you satisfaction and even a sense of purpose, but regardless, you’re putting out a good entertaining product. You found yourself a niche here and switching gears to a different type of content may be difficult. You’re clearly a good hearted man and I can see that this type ofcontent drains you. If you’re up for it, maybe change your content a bit towards the crazier and more shocking stories if you are looking to make this into more of a financial venture. However, if this is weighing on you and not providing you satisfaction in life, and you don’t need it, it may be time to move on. I’m just trying to say There’s more to this channel than just helping people out, many of us are highly entertained just watching too, and that’s something to be proud of as well. Hope the best.

I agree. I think all kinds of horror stories will not prevent many guys from doing stupid things. The drive for intimacy and company is so strong that it overrides all other concerns. I once aired concerns about asset protection in connection with a marriage in Bulgaria, and some British expats said "who cares about the money? you do not need much. As long as you have enough for a few pints each day, you are fine." And that is how many think.

If I could give you a little advice and I’ll just relate to my story I ended a 18 year relationship with a woman that I had a child with and she became the ex from hell and after 6 months of hell I just had to cut everything out of my life that was connected to her. Our couple friends I said goodbye to them, blocked her on every social media platform there is the only contact I had with her was a group chat with my daughter her and myself, this way she couldn’t say anything without our daughter seeing it. In the beginning I made the mistake you are making now by looking at her social media this isn’t doing yourself any good can see the pain in your face as you are telling this story, focus only on your son and don’t talk about his mom unless he wants to tell you something. Personally I would just think of your ex as a day care lady when your sons not with you I know it’s hard your son is still young and you want him to have a positive up bringing but you can only control your sons life when he’s in your care. I’m just a dad that’s been thru this pain As for the channel I wouldn’t change anything you shared my story about a year ago on your channel, I had watched your channel listened to all the stories knew all the dues and don’ts and I still ended up in a pay to play I was going to call it a relationship but it was a six month transaction lol my point is I think we all just need to learn the hard way unfortunately. These girls are very skilled and the best little liars and actresses I have ever met. I share my story with my friends and I watch them make the same mistakes.

Hi Dan, I've watched your channel many times as it's refreshing to see an honest, respectful youtuber in Thailand and a good human being. Please 🙏🙏 , I see you are at crossroads in your life and seem so unhappy. BUT - thankfully - sadness does not last forever. Please think of the future, when your son is a little older and can decide who he really wants to stay with. Think of any positives that can come of your time in Thailand 🤝👍👌. The weather is in it's 30s whilst Morecambe/North UK is around zero degrees and freezing. If you came back here - you'd be taxed to death, with no hope of having a decent life. The mother should understand that having a UK passport could help with the child's further education and future employment plus be a possible asset while travelling/working abroad in the future..

hua hin is a great place , alot more chill , youre a young man who takes his responsibility seriously, im older , no dependents, i usually visit thailand twice a year , maybe 2/3 months a year , i have with experience found out the difficulties with relationships here, 81% of all marriages to thai nationals end in divorce , economics drive all female positions here , there are exceptions but rare as hens teeth, just know , they will play you with all the sincerity in the world, but theres only two sins in thailand , one is to be ugly , two is to be poor ,the whole society is premised on these two things , enjoy thailand , but we are foreigners , leave thailand to the thais
