The Thames is the best river I have fished had a boat on there for 15yrs brilliant roach fishing of course you can stop in places people can’t get to when mooring which makes it even Better really miss it now had to pack up boating . Regards Robbo from merseyside 23:43

The Thames is so diverse and a boat certainly gives you an edge on others. I have an inflatable which we fish from, sadly this winter it hasn't come out of the garage!

Good video Duncan … I had a couple of sessions after the roach on the FAS section … is about 10 ft deep 2 rods out …started on a light stick float but wasn’t presented right. Stepped up to a 3G dave Harrell big stick and oli and caught well like that … most on corn but some on tares … even had a couple on the elderberries growing there … like you, it’s a style of fishing that I’ve not done and for that reason found it really enjoyable

Nice one Duncan, Are you actually casting or fishing off the rod top, like you would on a pole? Very well done mate.
@duncancharmanangling11366 ай бұрын
Casting as the swim was too shallow of the rod tip then slopped away into deeper water

No matter where in the country you fish, the ignorance and selfishness of boaters is unbelievable. There’re the cyclists of the rivers.

One boatist, can upset hundreds of anglers, without even trying. What purpose do they serve?
@andrewwing5086 Жыл бұрын
Canoeists & paddle borders are the electric scooters of waterways, who weave around our pavments & roads. People want freedom, but none of the responsibility. So I stop trying to police the world, put up, and shut up. Go to a small river in the middle of nowhere. Treat it with the reverence of a church. Fish and dream of big chub.Once again, the world is all good.
@DW14974 Жыл бұрын
While I agree they are a pain they are going backwards so they can’t see people fishing. And they probably come in close for safety as they can’t see what’s approaching them. I’ve encountered them loads over the years on the Trent. They stop in front of me at times for a breather, totally unaware that I’m there
@andrewwing5086 Жыл бұрын
Fair comment, but canoeists / paddle borders paddle forward. Are we saying rowing backwards isn't safe. I'll leave that to the reader. Providing its legal every one is entitled to access to the water. It's a question of etiquette sadly missing in many aspects of modern life.
@DW14974 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewwing5086I’ve personally not had a problem with Canoeists or paddle boarders. And in regards to the safety of rowing, I wouldn’t fancy doing it lol. I think also the problem is you can go for miles and miles where nobody is fishing or ever fishes. I do agree that etiquette is missing in our society. Respect and understanding would go a long way
