Poverty still in Bermondsey now!! The difference is now that all the well off people here in Bermondsey are foreigners!! The area is very desirable but not for real locals that cannot afford to pay the high rents or property prices! Sad really!! Let youngsters of today see this and know what a hard life really is and was back then.

Because they were good fighters to earned a living in the ring? I come from a family of boxers and some of the gyms in the old days offered meals etc to fighters and the local community due to the poverty.

This was filmed in the 70's(which were still challenging times for certain people,poor housing,big family's etc)but these old fellas were talking about yrs gone by(early 1900's).where times were f##king hard&harsh!! Hopefully I provided some clarification for u..
