Recently I'm seeing people writing THEN literally in every single case, especially on the Internet. Even native speakers nowadays make this mistake so often. (wonder if being constantly conveniently autocorrected contributed to that) My English teacher in middle school made sure we remember this rule for life so every time I see THEN used in comparison it sends chills down my spine 😅
@LuisFernando-hy6gn2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I was about to write the same. Also, that I'm not sure whether this is really a mistake or if doing it deliberately may have to do with some kind of 'cool tendency', though I also get the chills

Hello Gill! Lovely to see you again. In the present world ecosystem, a lot has changed for industry. Suddenly we are all online. So we can clearly say, before digital and after. The traditional media was quite different from now. Digital is faster than traditional advertising. Then, we engaged more with traditional modes of communication, now we are unable to lift our heads to look up at someone. ☺😊

Ma'am,your style of teaching is very innovative,so we are able learn so many new things which are still unknown to us ! My best wishes are always with you ! 😃

@@engvidGill My pleasure ! Yes,Ma'am Gill, i have also watched the video on ' Where did the months of the year get their name from ?' I enjoy this kind of informative lessons which enhances our knowledge on topics which are a little different from what is usually taught by the English teachers.Ma'am,this is your own style of teaching and i like it very much ! I still remember my mother who would find new ways to teach me when i was a school girl,to make my lessons more interesting ! Thank you so much ! 😃
@devjanichakraborty62042 жыл бұрын
Dear Ma'am Gill, This lesson on 'Than' and 'Then' is quite interesting ! I think while referring to much older times ' the then ' is used e.g. ln the then times people used bullock carts while travelling from one place to another ! Thank you for all your eng.Vid lessons as they are really beneficial to proceed in our journey of improving our knowledge of English ! 😃

I have seen a chat conversation in which someone did confuse THAN and THEN. That makes me suspect that a native or semi-native English talker tends to make mistake to distinguish these words more THAN me. Because when pronounced not clearly they sound almost the same, perhaps? For I've acquired most of my English vocabulary from reading, not hearing, THAN or THEN hasn't been a trouble. At least during conversation by typed letters.
