My mom died today. Taken way too young from fu*king cancer that she hid from us all until it had consumed every part of her and there was nothing that anyone could do. Last night I was playing her some Christian music in her hospice room, but before i stopped I snuck in House in Nebraska last. I needed to share something that once I found it, and all of your art, saved me in a way nothing else could. Im so glad I decided to do that. Im actually going to see you in Austin and it happens to be on her fu*king birthday which is an insane coincidence. Ill be the one crying my eyes out way out in the back venue because I couldnt get closer. Im ready to feel all the feelings that no other artist can make me feel. The begging for more because the pain is a pleasure. Thank you for your art, and that memory I have of holding her hand on my last night with her as I whispered to her about my new favorite artist and played the song that lead me to that moment. One who also shares a name with my 24 year old son named Hayden too, its such a good name ❤️ thank you again

I really fuck with the color palate with this footage. I know you film on tape and was curious what roll of film you shot this on? The darks of the drainage pipe footage make the water almost completely black, making it looks vile. It's so desaturated that the drainage of vibrance really elevates the ambient score to a whole new level and they beautifully compliment each other
@mothercain4 ай бұрын
i shot this one on my phone actually! and it's all raw footage too which is crazier, the water really does just look that black. it's so spooky, in the winter especially.

Your videos, music and visuals continuously remind me to appreciate the beauty of my hometown and I thank you for that. I’ve found beauty and solice in the abandoned factories, grain elevators, and farm houses, living by the train tracks, wheat fields you can see for miles, and powerlines against the grey skies in alleyways. I used to resent it all; this reminds me of my inner child that loves and enjoys exploring all these things. I find comfort here on your channel. (I will be adding Hilary Woods to my rotation btw thank you). I will always come back to these videos, thank you 🖤

Can you tell me more about the "dark beauty" of florida? I'm from the UK and I've never heard florida being referenced as dark 😳
@HJ-oo8ph4 ай бұрын
@@Midnightconfessional The North Florida region is very interesting. Lots of swamps and forests and mossy live oak trees out there. It’s not beachy in most places in North Florida, more rural farmlands and marshes and springs and rivers. There’s a lot of little towns with historic downtowns off of 1-10, and it’s usually just the little towns in a sea of rural fields and forest. The vibes are weird there. It’s kind of hard to explain. Many of these towns boomed decades ago but have waned in more recent years, so there’s lots of abandoned historic buildings around. It’s a weird place to live-it’s so humid, and the cicadas drone all day long as the shell of a mold-covered house decays in the forest.

I happened to be sent down a detour around Lake Okeechobee while heading down south recently, I was just in awe of the landscape, and the beauty of that lake. I've heard about Lake Okeechobee my whole life living in Florida, but actually seeing it honestly made me emotional. The surrounding fields and homes had such a foreign vibe to me (as someone who's lived in suburbs their whole life) it was like peeking into lives and experiences I never knew existed. This video captures the beauty of Florida so well, you have such an eye for film, and the music is such a perfect choice. Thank you for showing the Florida people don't often think about, in such a masterful way.
