I wasn't anticipating Ethel to pivot and join the ambient drone pantheon of Grouper/Inca Ore/Julianna Barwick/et al but FUCK I'm here for it.

What the fuck did you put in this song? It feels like a Thursday evening in the Mississippi Delta surrounded by a thunderstorm. You're trying to be calm as the warm rain and the wind is pushing you enough that you want to let go and lay down in the grass and let it brush all around you.

This song always has me in tears. My best friend of 20yrs and first love passed of a drug overdose from pain from a procedure I told him to go ahead with. And these lyrics… they’re like a mirror into the pain I feel from losing him. And his mom does check on me, and I do lie and tell her I’m ok.

the title written in the concrete got me, but at the same time people should not be demoralized if they do not end up where they hoped when they were younger

I'm confused that perverts was released as an ep. Is Ethel wanting to get more songs in film? I love that you aren't using auto tune in vocals.

I lived on a wet piece of plywood that was infested with million of spring tails and when you left the floor lamp on it would look like a mist of ash was floating on the ground and it would sound like it was pouring rain but you would look outside and there was no rain…. It was the springtails…

this album has absolutely killed me. i havent found something so raw that encapsulates these kinds of experiences that I and many other women (and men) have. really needed this to fully tap in to myself. also super inspiring to see you use music as your medium as someone whos trying to do the same with my own trauma. thank you ♡

2:42 This shot left me speechless. I'm from a mountainous area and I never see such bare horizons like this. The depth of this shot is breathtaking, below you can see the detail in the grass but as you go up the grass loses its detail until you get to the horizon, and you can see that the horizon is very, very far away. Such depth in just the lower 2/3rds (roughly) of the image. It left me breathless because of its beauty but also its unease. Kind of terrifying how easy it'd be to get lost in those fields.
