At 53 years old I have also come to terms with so much after reading all of Alice’s books. While I didn’t have the same history that you did, I have also found so many answers to so many Questions. Realizing that I’m on the ACE spectrum has brought so much peace (and some more questions) . I've come to terms I'm an Ace only in the past 2 years - also in my 30s. It caused quite bit of problems for me before I understood myself and talking about it is so important. The inclusivity in Alice's writing is so important.

Oh, my gawds, Jackie. Thank you for this. I'm weeping. I'm a couple of decades older than you. While my family isn't necessarily homophobic, I experienced the same thing you had at 9 years old. I love Alice and the stories they've given us. I love their characters as much as I love my own daughter and grandkids. Alice has even saved me. I found their work last year on Netflix and have obsessed over all of the Oseman-verse ever since. All of these characters, even Isaac, Imogen, Ben, and Harry, help to heal, or at least begin to heal, the pain and trauma we go through. Alice is a beautiful person inside and out, and what she created is so beautiful and broke the mold, I have never ever seen something Like Heartstopper, never a series stuck with me for so long that I can't let it go,I seen both seasons 3 times, raved about to my partner (my Nick Nelson) so much he bought me the books. Either the editing is not great or they focus too much on other things. For those of us who live in other countries/states (LA California for me) I would love to see video of the iconic filming locations such as Herne Bay as you did in this video. Not sure how close you live to them and I know they are spread around mostly the south/central east part of the UK. But if you ever get a chance that could make an awesome video or series of them. Netflix just dropped a short video of the inside of the school which was nice. Anyway, just thought I would throw this idea out there. Cheers!

Same here! Realizing I'm on the ACE spectrum at 40! 🤭Actually, in my case, it was around a year ago while reading an M/M romance with 2 asexual MCs on it ("Upside Down" by NR Walker). I went on the ACE online forums and when I started reading people's comments is when I figured out some of the things they were saying resonated with me... Anyway, in an over sexualized world it's important to make clear we're NOT broken! I was so hesitant to watch this because I already cried loads on your reaction videos to Heartstopper. I am so happy that today, I decided to click this and watch (and cry, again). I admire you for not being afraid to show vulnerability in front of your audience. Your story, just like all of Alice's work, will definitely change someone's life. Thank you for teaching us that at the lowest of lows, there will always be something, someone, somewhere we don't even know, that will pick us up just how you decided to pick up your camera once again. It hits hard but in just the right spots to relieve the aches you're having inside. And that's just the first of many reasons I say it's one of the greatest works of fiction ever made.
