Dear Vice Admiral Mike Noonan,
On your last day in command of #AusNavy, we wish to commend you on almost 40 years of dedicated service to the seas.
Your legacy includes deployments to the Middle East and Southern Ocean, commissioning HMAS Parramatta into naval service as its Commanding Officer, as well as positions including Defence as Director General of Operations at JOC, Commander Maritime Border Command and Deputy Chief of Navy.
Over the last 4 years as our Chief, your steadfast leadership to raise, train and sustain Australia’s naval forces has ensured the future of our Navy is a more resilient, capable and lethal fighting force.
From sailors and officers across the fleet, fair winds & following seas.
