Mate, love these videos. It's great to hear honest opinion on some great questions. Been reading bike mags since late seventies so all those names stood out for me. I'm a sports bike rider till I won't be able to get on one. Amazing to see the revival of naked bikes, not of interest to me but each to their own & it keeps the industry/sport alive. Please keep up these videos. Your age & obvious experience gives extra gravity to your opinion & of course no sponsors on sight indicated you are not beholden to anyone.

Hi Michael Thanks for the great info again. It would be very interesting to hear Your opinion on bike security. Especially considering what had happened on your last trip to Italy, but also the way You go about security in England. I personally am absolutely in love with my bikes and consider myself lucky that I have never lost any of them through theft. I've lived in 4 different European countries for an extended period of time, before I settled on the east coast of Australia. Safety here is better than in Europe and I love this country for the fact that ppl here respect each other's property. Not saying that there is no theft at all but far less than the EU or the UK. One of the reasons I could never imagine living in England is the safety aspect. It must be soo annoying that You cannot have anything nice anymore without the fear of it getting nicked. When i see those bike theft videos on YT, it just boils my blood. If I had to constantly think about my bike's safety, I'd go crazy.

I was a born again biker last year after 16yr break. Went for a 20yr old GPZ500S as it light, nimble, reasonably quick, and cheap to run,and it has a fairing. It's been brilliant fun, so much so I'll be sticking with it this year.

I bought a 22 panigale v4s after seeing your mcn review, hadn't been on the road for 7+ years and have no regrets. I've owned nothing but supersports bikes and would never own a naked or tourer no matter how old and crippled I am. Sounds stubborn but whenever I park up my pani at the mountain top Cafe where other bikers are, 95% of them who own nakeds, they can't help but stare and look at it. Why have comfortable and plain looking when you can have exciting and beautiful!

Thanks for a great series of videos, really enjoy watching them. After getting my bike license in 2009 at the age of 38, which has honestly been one of the best things I have ever done, Through riding I have met a fantastic set of friends and together we have ridden locally, toured Europe, gone off roading in Spain, done the IOM TT, UK and Euro Track Days, and even done 3 days @ Phillip Island with No Limits. At 50 I decided to start racing, so got my ACU license and signed up with BEMSEE. I met you in the paddock in 21 @ Brands GP round, and got a photo :) I am now in my 3rd year of racing, and am totally addicted, this year i am competing in the BEMSEE Thunderbike Ultra and Powerbikes classes. Even though I am at the blunt end of the grids, I really enjoy it, but I am struggling to get out of the "Track day / road riding" mindset which is hampering my results. Do you have any advice for getting into the racing mindset, ie being a bit more ruthless, getting closer to bikes, going for smaller gaps etc?? Thank you Paul (#888)

I'll definitely be checking out the MCN vids again, especially the state of mind one as I can be a stroppy bugger lol, hence the name. Hopefully I've mellowed in 13 years away from biking! As for which bike, I've decided to go for the GSX8S as it really appeals to me & seems to have about the right mix of everything I'm after at this stage.

Love your content Sir. Thanks for that. Not sure how or where to ask a question for your live Q&A since by the time I see a video, its already done. I'll ask here and hopefully you can answer it on the next one. Or here. I ride a 2023 MT-09-SP and I'm trying to get ready for my first ever track day at Laguna Seca here in Monterey California. I'm riding harder on the twisties than ever to prepare and I've also found some big open school parking lots on the weekends to continue tinkering with suspension set up and hard cornering practice. I I saw a comment in a video from another MT-09 rider who was prepping his bike for a track day, he mentioned swapping out is relatively new Bridgestone BattlAxe S-22 that come OEM on the bike because , as he said; they are flimsy and lighter that the regular after market BattlAxe S-22 tires. This seems odd to me and hard to believe. I would think there would be a liability issue for the tire company to have different version of the same model tire. But I suppose a manufacturer could make a tire with less rubber for OEM. Can you comment on the validity of the claim? I ask because in my testing, when I get the pressures down to track recommended pressures. ( 28 psi rear, 30 psi front cold ) and am braking hard while leaning in, I actually do feel like they start to roll /fold on the rim a bit and its un-nerving. Perhaps that's how it's supposed to feel when the soft rubber on the edge of the tire really digs in ?? I've never ridden so hard before so I don't know where the edge of grip/traction limit is on a front tire but I can't afford to go beyond the edge of the tire's traction limits and go down just to find out. I suspect the S-22 is a lighter carcass tire than some others by nature, so perhaps I'll just stay above 30 front cold for the track so as not to roll it off the rim and break the bead. Or is that even a risk? I've done it on dirt bikes with low pressure, thankfully never on a street bike. Or is there some truth to the rumor that the OEM version of the tires are lower quality than the regular after market 2-SS's?? Or perhaps its a sign that I'm too hard on the front brakes as I start to lean in and should be lighter with my trail braking by the time I'm leaned that far over that it starts to roll the carcass/sidewall over. Thoughts?

Hi Neevesy thanks for the great videos. Ill be blunt i was out riding with a friend who died in a crash and since then my own riding has gone down the toilet. The bike didnt cause his accident he had a heart attack, but seeing it happen seems to have ruined my confidence. I am now extremely up tight when riding which upsets the bike in the bends and to be honest its become quite stressful. Any advice on potential courses etc would be appreciated, i love bikes but am starting to think about hanging up my lid for good. Cheers.

Some absolute great advice as usual Neevesy, especially with tyres and touring, I lived in Italy for about 3 years, from about 2016/7 and people I spoke to warned me about riding to Napoli (Naples) for bike theft, so to hear your experience is kind of reinforcing all I was told back then, my GSXR1000 was stolen from an underground supposedly secure garage about an hour south of Bologna where I was then living then, even though it was double chained to my other bike, and when I reported it, the Carabinieri could have cared less tbh, so I would concur if you're taking a bike to Italy be very mindful of where and how you leave it parked.

Love the vids! Just a couple of silly questions. Just bought a 2020 GSX-S750. Is this a really underrated bike in the middleweight class? I really feel so... Also on the swingarm it says to never change the tire model, is that really a concern? What tire pressures should one follow? the swingarm? Internet?

Hi Neevesy, loving the content, keep it coming! You mentioned that manufacturers build their bike suspension down to a price, does that include my 2017 Daytona 675 with Ohlins suspenders? If they've cheaped out on it, would it be worth upgrading, as it's already a great bike that gives me loads of pleasure giving thou's the hurry up on twisty bits. Much love, Andrew

I worked at Honda for awhile and it was shocking how the suspension came from the factory on their Sportsbikes. Stock setting was a complete myth. I would always set the suspension to the best of my ability (thanks to Colin@100%Suspension) for the new owner in an attempt to keep them rubber side down.

Great series - thank you. My question is about the options offered on some of the latest bikes: I’m a bit baffled why Honda with the Transalp, Suzuki with the V-Strom 800DE and Triumph with the Tiger 660 offer an optional quick-shifter but no cruise control. I’ve only ever had a quickshifter on track bikes so maybe I’m missing the point but given the nature of these three bikes (and there a quite a few others in similar styles) and their likely purpose, being commuters, tourers and adventuring plus the proliferation at average speed checks on more and more roads, doesn’t this seem a bit illogical? I’d welcome your thoughts. Thanks, Martin D

Corner speeds being higher on an weaker bike is because riders dont need to break earlier and harder(out of fear) before the turn. U travel slower on a weaker bike and it does not scare u as much before the turn as on the monster superbikes.

But im don't know which bike to buy let alone how big of a bike i should start of with. Ive talked to some of the guys who already go racing from my area, some of them suggest that i start on a 250cc, others say start on 400cc or 600cc. So im confused in which bike i should look for, and which i would learn the most on.
