Why can’t reeds be grown in Lake Elsinore, is it the winters cold?

I think the summers are the killers here and the Reed can’t hack it. Too bad. I got 4 avocados off it when I still had it in a container

I am very sorry to hear that the Reed didn't make it. I have a Reed 1 year old with 2 fruits in a 15 gallons doing fine. I bought it last year November from home depot on the 25th of November.
