It is a beautiful board although I like to have some crackers or breadsticks on mine. Tell me, how long can the sliced pear last before it starts to look brown, or do you dip it in lemon juice.

Can't forget the carbs! I always serve mine on the side. It will last a few hours. but lemon juice is always a good trick!

I personally would have shelled the pistachios or bought them shelled. A huge budget saver for me is Dollar Tree. I don’t know if you have them but you can find nuts, crunchy snack bits, dried fruits and chocolates for your boards. Plus cute ramekins as well. I’ve lucked up and found individual boards there for dinner parties and just a great place for saving for a small business. Beautiful boards.

Sam your board is beautiful. I have a question for you, what are your thoughts about putting little flags identifying different cheeses? I kind of like to do it because my family is not too familiar with types of cheeses and sometimes I do it to identify some different types of meats. Also, do you include all the different types of tiny forks, spoons, and knives? I found it helpful for the family to apply cheeses and honey and jams onto crackers and bread. Your thoughts?

I agree with you, it's helpful when you are feeding a crowd that is unfamiliar. But personally I don't do it unless it's requested only because I feel like it takes away from the presentation and can look kind of chaotic. I include spoons for bowls on the table or bowls on the board. But I don't include forks, plates or napkins unless they pay extra for that. I've found that people prefer to pick out their own anyway.

I didn't for this video, but if I were putting in on a customers board (which I typically don't) I would probably use a bit of Lemon juice.

everything is made day of. I am very particular and like everything to be as fresh as possible. Just pop it in the fridge!
