Holiday Entertaining 1986 is the best - very warm and loving. My all-time favorite Thanksgiving film.

I remember when this played on PBS back in the ‘80s. I was just in awe; no one ever did anything like this! She really started the domestic revolution

do you happen to know when it was first released? and was it on tv rather than youtube?
@bluebird91934 күн бұрын
it aired on tv, her first special. No one knew who she was. After this TG show she was given a weekly show I think aired on Sunday afternoons?? I would set an alarm to remind me to watch the show which was the first of its kind and I was immediately obsessed. Networks didnt understand what they had and often preempted the episode I waited all week for! They thought this homemaker show had little value, how wrong they were. When it was time to aire I'd stop whatever I was doing, excited to watch only to find a news event had booted it and I"d have to wait another week for the next episode, no repeats. Furious I'd call the TV station and was told theres nothing they can do. LOL. When this TG Special was made available on VHS tape I ordered it and watched over and over every November for inspiration. A Martha wannabe was born and Ive been an avid gardener ever since.

@@galaxy_mosaic3587 KZbin didnt exist when this show aired! Dvds and DVRs didnt exist, we only had VCRs. I dont recall the internet existed yet either, no world wide web.

@@bluebird9193 hahaha, thank you for sharing. from her hairstyle and clothing features, I could only sense it was aired around the 1980s. although her visual style evolved, I was impressed with her confidence and poise from this early evidence of her on air personality

The stuffing drove me over the edge. Nearly every ingredient of the many ingredients was marinated in something or other or had some special element. Lord have mercy.

This was so over the top 80's Reagan era yuppiedom. Smoking pheasants? Homemade chutneys? Cognac and sage leaves in a mosaic pattern under the skin? Id be willing to bet even Martha Stewart cringes when she sees this

Being alone has nothing to do with being impoverished, but whatever helps you drum up pity for the choices you make.
