What you failed to consider was Thanos ' intelligence, he's the guy who literally outsmarted the entire universe on more than one occasion. No matter how powerful, Gorr is a simpleton by comparison. Some clever manipulation and Thanos wins with minimal effort on his part. MCU Thanos I'm not so sure about, but I'd still back him over any single opponent.

Pretty close fight. Gorr can probably restrain thanos or outright decapitate him with the necrosword, but thanos can do the same as well ,unless Gorr abuses teleportation. They are pretty relative in terms of strength. Love and thunder confirmed thor was weaker in endgame.However, even back then thanos had trouble overpowering him with one arm. I disagree with this battle and the outcome man. You forgot that Thanos is highly intelligent and the use of the Infinity Gauntlet has a whole range of abilities and powers too. Plus Gorr's sword needs to kill and absorb the life forces of gods in order to get stronger. Thanos on the other hand can find a number of ways to separate Gorr from his sword in oder for him to nail the final killing blow to the God Butcher. WatchMojo also pointed this thing out too, even if Thanos doesn't have the Gauntlet with him, he can still find a number of ways to separate Gorr from his sword and to defeat him once and for all. With all do the greatest level of all respect Danco as much as I still love watching all of these great Vs. battles, Thanos can still defeat Gorr for good.

Gorr is one shot character, you can't take his weapon, its a part of his standard gear. Thanos on the other hand had gauntlet as a one shot story arc, it's not a part of his standard gear. Given MCU versions of the characters, it comes down to this simple fact: gorr survived hits from stormbreaker and thanos was cut to pieces by stormbreaker. In the comics it’s very close, but I will say gorr wins based on how they scale to some asgardians. Gorr survived against three thors going all out, including full powered attacks from future king Thor. That version of Thor should scale roughly to odin, and then he fought two other versions of Thor at the same time and was comfortably kicking their ass. Odin alone was able to beat thanos with moderate ease. To me Gorr is more impressive.

He beat him even while fighting against worthy cap and iron man as well. He also beat him easily in the opening scene of infinity war as well. The only times Thor gave Thanos trouble was when he ambushed him, like at the end of infinity war or beginning of end game.

@@chaserucker604 He didn't beat Thor Worthy Cap and Ironman together. He fought Worthy Cap solo who was tossing him around. Cap is fodder without the hammer and Tony isn't that great either. Fat Thor is pretty weak. Taking them out isn't impressive. Beginning of IW Thor didn't have SB and Thanos had the power stone and the BO with him. Half of the Asgardians escaped with Valkyrie and Korg. The half that remained were just civilians as the soldiers had been slaughtered by Hela. Loki didn't seem to have fought and Hulk didn't fight til Loki said his name so the only ones who fought were Thor and Heimdal and they were against Thanos with the ps and the BO. And this most likely just a Base Thor as they were inside a ship holding the Asgardians so Thor couldn't use lighting in fear of blowing a hole through the ship so Thanos only beat down a Base Thor. Thor fully powered with SB one shot Thanos. The lighting blast was an ambush but the throw wasn't as Thanos clearly saw Thor. There's no excuse for Thanos getting one shot. Gorr fighting and being superior to a Peak Thor is better than Thabos beating down weakened Thor's twice and getting one shot by a Peak Thor

Thanos wins, he has too many ranged attacks but his telepathy is the real difference maker here. Take away the Infinity Gauntlet & Gorr wins, but to be fair you'd have to take away the All Black sword too.

I am a tad confused, did he early on say that Thanos was inferior to Hulk, Superman and Thor in strength? He DID beat up the Hulk. Was the Hulk stronger but Thanos had the tradeoff of being a more skilled fighter, like a martial artist beating up a body builder? Also, isn't Thanos pretty much equal in ability to Darkseid and isn't Darkseid stronger than Superman so by extension Thanos should be stronger than Superman also? Lastly, Thor is inferior to both Superman and Hulk in strength so wouldn't that make Thanos stronger than Thor too? Where did he get off saying that they were all stronger than Thanos?
