Thassa Deep-Dwelling Commander Deck Tech

Pulled a foil showcase Thassa so I’m building a deck just for that. Seasoned player but you still managed to highlight a handful of cards I wouldn’t have thought of. Thumbs up from me!

I love this deck tech! However, I already have a Roon Blink deck so I think I'll consider putting Thassa in to join Brago as a lieutenant for my Blinky good stuff and value deck. This deck tech did give me some new spicy and fun avenues to take my blink deck into so Thanks for the new ideas, DJ!

Just finished Thassa, Deep-Dwelling and this video helped me get there. Thanks DJ !! Subscribed and I enjoy catching you on Command Zone. The super-tech card I've found and love is Slithermuse. Since I bounce my opponent's creatures and other permanents fairly often, blinking Slithermuse has been amazing. If you could play Nezahal or Consecrated Sphinx for 4 mana...imagine. Thx again for the inspiration and the insight.

DJ mentions Heraldic Banner is a good ramp card (which it is) but Altar of the Pantheon is also great! Instead of buffing your creatures it gives you devotion for Thassa!

For draw/selection creatures in mono-blue, I'm a huge fan of Pondering Mage. Being able to look at the to 3, shuffle, and then draw is great to be able to do every turn.

Dismiss into Dreams is no joke. I guess you could target their creatures, but it's stuff like Auras and Equipment that's so much more nefarious. If I can get it to land I rarely regret it.

Djinn of Wishes is another great card for this deck.. letting you pay 2 and 2U for anything free from the top of your deck including land.. that's pretty big.

Hey DJ, I wanted to see you do a different type of video on a lot of these god-type creatures (hard to kill, easy to get out, etc). I wanna hear your opinions on what legendary creatures are meant to be commanders, and what are meant to be lieutenants, creatures that you wanna get out to synergize that you don’t need in your command zone!

I'm surprised you didn't mention Scourge of Fleets. In a mono blue deck, you will likely have enough islands that it's just a one sided evacuation at the end of each of your turns.

Been playing blink for a few years now and prefer bant colors. The best commander I’ve found so far is golos. His etb is a game changer with deck thinning and mana ramping available anytime.

What do folk think of Midnight Clock as a monoblue mana rock? Personally, I think it's great fun and decently powerful. 2U, artifact. {T}: Add {U}. {2}{U}: Put an hour counter on Midnight Clock. At the beginning of each upkeep, put an hour counter on Midnight Clock. When the twelfth hour counter is put on Midnight Clock, shuffle your hand and graveyard into your library, then draw seven cards. Exile Midnight Clock.

Huh, I have or am getting the vast majority of these but a couple here I missed the interactions of, although I don't want the deck to be too strong for my playgroup. Anyone seen Floodgate at all? Creature burn in mono-blue! I'm at least somewhat taking apart my Aminatou Blink for this, I just love Thassa, I can't resist :)

I played a similar deck with aminatou and the infinite mana combo of deadeye navigator and peregrine drake to get infinite mana and the steel the hole board with deadeye navigator and agent of treachery

I assume this works without the expensive time warps and temporal manipulation? Narset and the djinn would fit in there as well right and the 3/1 Flyer from eldraine? Drew one in pre release and planning to build my first commander deck with either thassa or omnath

Thassa it the deck I use whenever my play group gets frustrated of a player who steam rolling. But those Pirates 🏴‍☠️ look like they were make for this deck I gotta find a way.

It wouldn't work too hot with Gadwick since you didn't put anything into X when it gets blinked and re-enters the battlefield.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you'll go to blink your master of waves, all your 1/0 elemental will die since they won't have the +1/+1 from master of waves.

Wouldn't blinking Master of waves has little to no value without an effect that adds at least one toughness to those Elementals, such as Caged sun or gauntlet of power? I think They will die immediately during the blink. Makes for good fodder during defense though!

State-based actions aren't checked until someone will receive priority, and the blinking happens during resolution. So by the time SBAs are checked the master is back with more friends.

Vizier of tumbling sands. Blink at endstep. Comes in untapped. Stasis in play. Comes back to you. You use vizier to untap a permanent. Pay for stasis. Mean lock achieved. I'm so sorry to the playgroups this victimizes.

Stop driving up the price ! I know she's awesome but can you provide deck tech of slightly niche commanders from the set instead of ones that have a high price points? Your channel is incredibly big and a push from you will affect the market significantly.
