It seriously is. They had these countdowns for the actresses turning 18 in 2003/4/5/6-2010 with Lindsay, Hilary, Miley, Mila Kunis etc so gross and sexist immoral. A girl parties and kisses a guy and she's a promiscuous slut but a dude does it and its all fine. ???? The way they speak of Mandy Moore is gross. Her hymen and so on. Its vulgar. Howard Stern had Fathers spanking their daughters... He was asking the crudest questions and didnt have any care or remorse until now in 2024.

He was a shock jock, and did what got him the most attention. Like everything else about the 1990's and 2000's, it was all rooted in some deeply embedded cultural norms where dissecting the intimate lives of celebs, and what kind of culture comes from that when underage stars start twisting in the media machine. It's beyond appalling and repulsive, but also a product of its time. It would be interesting if Deep Dive could do a history of public fascination with younger Hollywood stars. I see people like Howard as an extension of the Paparazzi machine, just manifested in a form that someone can listen to it rather than read it. Doesn't make it better, just an evolution of more of the same.

Brittney, Jessica, Ashley, Hilary, Selena, Demi, Miley, Christina.. it’s so crazy to look back and hear these interviews.. By adults.. and listen to the questions they ask and how they criticize and speak to these children for the world to see. I think that Demi releasing 29 is a perfect example of why "we" should not be satisfied when the young women/girls dating older guys tell us how okay they are with that. Of course she thinks it's okay. She thinks she is an adult and can make her own choices and this older guy is just so good and understanding and so hot... Only later after their brain is fully developed they can assess what really happened. EDIT: But of course, she is not the one to be blamed. The guy who is taking advantage of her is the one to blame.

i completely agree. but i think we have to be careful about where we direct these criticisms because often times it’s the victim that ends up getting shamed and ridiculed. there’s only so much we as fans can do, and if the victim chooses to stay with their abuser then all we can really do is show our support and give them the strength to leave. everyone calling out Billie and leaving thousands upon thousands of comments telling her how dumb she is, how disappointed they are, etc. is not helpful. i think we should acknowledge how wrong the relationship is but after that, we have to leave it alone. you give the victim the information they need and allow them to do what they want with it. like you said, one day they’ll mature and realize how wrong the situation was, but that realization has to come from them. you can say all the right things but if someone isn’t ready to hear it, they’re simply not going to listen.

I of course knew about Demi being groomed my Wilmer. I didn’t realize how many more he also started grooming and getting involved with when they were about 17 and he was way older. That’s showing a problematic pattern for sure! Not to mention both Demi and Lindsey were both struggling with addiction and eating disorders. I don’t know about the others but that gives me almost a sociopathic or narcissistic vibe that he searches out the ones who are dealing with really bad internal issues and are vulnerable! We all know Demi and his relationship was toxic so it just worries me and disturbs me. Does he purposely seek out vulnerable underaged girls to latch onto and groom. 🤮😫 That’s disgusting!!!

The guy who fought for everyone's free speech for decades and got celebs to spill dirt by pretending to be their friend during interviews? You guys watching clips really have no idea how the stern show worked. I watched it for over 20 years, Stern is not going to go after kids. He makes fcked up jokes and says fcked up things to get people to open up to him. And it works. No interviewer gets the dirt like Stern does. You literally cannot name a better interviewer who does that. There's a reason when people get cancelled that a HS interview is referenced half the time. You should be thanking him.

I think the issues with age gap relationships in Hollywood is the fact that in Hollywood these kids grow up too fast like at 10 they are partying and hanging out with people too old for them. The older people were also once the younger people and during that time no one said anything when people were grooming them so as they get older they think it is okay to do what everyone else was doing. You must remember these entertainers don’t have parents or guardians who are with them or watching them at all times. These people in Hollywood are raising these kids to grow up and be bad people or people with extremely bad trauma. You either agree to their life style/rules or you’re tossed to the side.

For everyone who doesn’t know who Howard stern is and why he’s “not canceled” its because his show has always been absurd/offensive and that is exactly what his boomer audience likes to listen to. He has been on the radio since the 80s with a CRAZY strong cult following and his audience has been single handedly holding the entire company of Sirius XM radio afloat since 2005. He’s a big deal with men who are gen x and older and people will VICIOUSLY defend him. His talk show is full of reoccurring comedians who share similar senses of humor to him. He says the most upsetting shit on purpose and he was big in the 90s because it fit the attitude of the nation at the time with anti PC culture

Yes this comment needs to be at the top! Wilmer and others went with the intention to riff and play off Stern’s raunchiness. It was expected, the culture, I was so shocked when I tried to listen to it as a young woman, especially with his sidekick -a woman- egging it all on. Now I know she’s a pick me girl. I’m so glad we are publicly challenging this bs now.

Shock jocks gonna shock jock. It would be interesting if Deep Dive could cover the history of talk show hosts like Howard so there's some sort of context on their channel going forward.

I've been shocked since the 1st time I heard his show in the 90s deciding who deserved a breast enhancement. His sidekick is just as annoying and ridiculous. Why ANYONE goes as a guest I can't figure out.

I think the more Awareness that is raised. The harder it will be for people to defend him. Or if he pisses off the wrong person in the industry, paid PR can take him down.

All this is so crazy and unacceptable. What these Disney kids got exposed to at such a young age. Their childhood was lost, drugs and alcohol addiction that they had to overcome as adults is just insane. Thank you Deep Dive for exposing the truth as always ✌️💚

I feel like everyone (including this video) overstated Wilmer's role in the questions/answers on Howard Stern and understated (or rather, not stated at all) Howard's part in it all. Also, Demi as Lucille Ball was epic

I started dating at 20, and tended to date around 5-7 years older. Although I've never dated anyone underage I very briefly dated someone who was 7 years younger than me and the maturity difference was astounding. I honestly feel like people are not who they're going to be until 25 so dating before that point is largely not worth it.

@@KidPoe It's becoming more common for younger women to freeze their eggs. In the next 50 years or so my guess would be that it will become part of your medical to-dos, to freeze your eggs when you're a teenager

@@KidPoe That's just plain untrue. A 10 year window? You're high off your azz. And the "risks" are increased, but the risks are so extremely low the increase is negligible. Plenty of women have kids past 40. 35 is a perfectly normal age to have children. I wish my mom was 35 when she had me, we would have had way less problems. People in their 20's aren't fully mentally developed and most are not established financially.

@@megd5498 It's incredibly painful and it's not some one and done thing, it's repeated. Most women do not want to endure it. It's not like freezing sperm. Men have things extremely easy. But what else is new.
