It's apparently known as a "Mourning Dove" (may be spelled "morning",but idk) very pretty birds
@thatonepossum57665 ай бұрын
They also make neat noises. When they fly they tend to chirp repeatedly, it’s a little hard to explain but very cool to listen to.

@@thatonepossum5766 I believe there's a nest in my backyard rn and I hear them all the time,I am a bit concerned for their safety though since we have a lot of stray cats around

I just kinda always assumed it was an owl, nice to know.

It is spelled Mourning because they sound like they are crying or wailing as if to mourn the loss of someone.

You can do a mourning dove call that is indistinguishable from an actual bird with your hands if you know how to do that whistle where you cup your hands together and blow between your thumbs
@Majima_Nowhere5 ай бұрын
That can also be used as a loon call.
@teho15365 ай бұрын
that's more of an owl/siren call

I've always liked the call of a mourning dove. The common loon has a memorable call too. Fun fact: Mourning doves mate for life.

I have no idea where this is from but yet the bird and song gives me a calm sense of nostalgia

I think it's an old Windows operating system sound effect. I know I recognize it but cannot recall exactly.

Nope I was wrong it's just a common sound people remember from their childhood while being outside and playing. At least thats what I gather from the Mourning Dove Coo video with 13+M views. It does sound familiar but I don't remember it for a long time. Then again these days I don't venture into nature much anymore. This sound reminds me of waking up during summer camps or something.

It’s a mourning dove. A lot of people heard them a lot during their childhoods. :)
I appreciate the integration of nature and music. Truly a masterpiece. Can you pass me your blunt?

I learned how to imitate this call when I was about 10. You kind have to puff out your cheeks and exhale while doing it. The male doves are the ones who do the call. They would come sit on the roof and call back to me.
