You probably know by now that the band support each other in every thing they do and this is reflected in the mutual love and respect between them and the fans.

I understand the drum solo highlights this performance, but MISAs bass lines does it for me...just amazing!

The Maids performing one of their (two) most performed songs: Freedom and Real Existence. But the Maids in this MV are pure perfection, aren't they? I mean, what can you fault? And those faces... their attitude... their music... their playing... their story... and their joy! Band-Maid is a world treasure, imo! Thanks Shine, for bringing the world's best hard rock band to your viewers!

You have to admit, you don't always get what you want. Also, they do their own thing so what you want doesn't really matter.

On the Hate? performance, the drummer actually was participating in the dueling lead section. She was kind of soloing during the very first part of MISA's bass lead-in for several measures until she dropped back and let MISA take the full spotlight. Unfortunately, the camera wasn't on her, so you may not have noticed it.

Great reaction and they din't have time to be bored on stage when they typically perform for 2+ hours and 20-24 songs. Freedom is just a hype song that they love to play at most of their concerts. In many in many interviews they have said that they all consider themselves as a family and spend their free tome together. They consider themselves as "besties" - they even wrote a song called "Bestie" all in English (release a couple of weeks ago - on their channel) in collaboration with Mike Einziger from Incubus.

We all love their solos, but in part it's because it's just easier to focus on one member, and IMO their solos are often (especially MISA's of late) written a little more simply to make them accessible to the audience. The stuff they're playing behind the main melody or groove of the song is often just as impressive and sometimes more so 😊

Thanks for the reaction and comments. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! Freedom is the HAPPY song. BTW, a three-way is called a trio.🤓 Domination (official live video) has a short drum solo. I’d also recommend Moratorium, Play!, or No God (all official live vids). Cheers!

Akane is like Ringo. She doesn't do a lot of solos. This is almost as rare as Ringo's solo from 'The End'.

Band-Maid mostly sing in Japanese, but tend to litter their songs with English expressions. There are a couple of songs completely in English -- mostly collaborations: "The Dragon Cries" (produced by Tony Visconti, a prominent producer with acts like David Bowie) and "Bestie", their most recent song (co-written with Mike Einziger of Incubus). A few songs are entirely in Japanese, especially their older songs. "Freedom" was not written by Band-Maid, but comes from the composers that their management used before they trusted Band-Maid (Kanami!) to write their own songs. But "Freedom" is a light and fluffy piece of good fun, and they enjoy playing it.

As fun as this drum solo is... Akane has gotten better in the years since then, and has better freedom and flow to her playing now. They make no bones about the fact that they play to a click, but in Akane's solo at the 10th Anniversary show she makes a big deal about removing her in-ears for her drum solo. They make for tight performances, but she doesn't need them to rock out now. This band just gets better and better and better.

Shineboxx, my suggestion for the next Band-Maid song(s) to listen to is "Manners/Black Hole", the official live video. It's a two-fer live on-line video shot on a staqe without a live a in-house audience, due to the Covid pandemic restrictions and shutdowns in Japan. The two songs in the video are radically different from each other, which shows the band's versatility. At the beginning of "Manners" there is a bass/drum duo from MISA and Akane that sets the groove of the song."I'm not going to tell you about "Black Hole". You'll have to see it for yourself. I think it may leave you sweating at the end.

Everyone is always requestion Freedom as it has a drum solo, but it does not highlight Akane's abilities in any other way than she does a drum solo in time with the click track. I would suggest two MV:s after this; "Shambles" and "From Now On". After those two you will be a such a big fan, that you might be ready for the "standard" Band-Maid songs, meaning that any song do not sound don't as you expect!

Try Domination live video. It has a very tiny drum solo in the song but not much.

The lyrics don't matter to me. I enjoy them the same as I enjoy a singer who sings "scat". It's just sounds, like an added instrument. As for the last song not showcasing the drummer: realize that their concerts typically have 20-25 songs in them. So they spread the solos around. Not mixing them all in one song. And the studio versions typically don't have solos. Or at least many don't. They add them to some of the live songs as a reward to their fans at the concerts. And not even to the same songs each concert.

7:25 - "Hate" was an exception as its lyrics pertain to a cheating boyfriend whose gf is a good friend of the lead singer, Saiki ("Sy-kee"). BAND-MAID's songs otherwise uplift, inspire and motivate the listener. 9:16 - Here ya' go to get you started; I'll let fellow Maidiacs add to this list: Shambles (MV) Warning! (MV) Rinne (MV)

Why are you spreading that story? Saiki never said that.
