Jack Cassidy (Marty Haines in this episode) guest starred on an episode of MTM as Ted Baxter's equally egomaniacal, narcissistic younger brother, Hal Baxter. Perfect casting.

Marty - what a creep! I love the last line: "That spot hasn't been quiet since the day we met."

Every vacation Ann went on, here comes her father flying across the country to go meddle in her life when he’s really not needed!!!! Why did they repeat this storyline so many times? The episode would have been perfectly fine without him showing up like he always does!

@@deborahdishington735 I suspect she's referring to Ann's mother as her name is Helen. For some reason the show insists on having Ann's annoying father in a lot of the shows, but without his charming wife.

Just when I was enjoying a two part episode without Ann's meddlesome father he shows up in the second episode. I wonder what the writer's obsession is with including him in so many episodes? He must have some incriminating photos of someone.

Yeah. And he's a lousy actor.

He's very annoying n I hate that he keeps calling Donald " Hollanger" it's rude to call someone your close to by their surname everytime, how would he have liked being called MARIE all the time??? Silly of the writer to do that.

They were perfectly matched. Sad that Phil recently passed away. He was a wonderful man. They were married for 44 years.

Sorry, it is not. Not by a long shot. Have you seen any MTM episodes.

I've seen them all. I love MTM but mostly because of Mary Rhoda and some of the minor character actors. the writing is overrated.@@randilevson9547

Not always. MTM scripts were usually sophisticated and complex. TG scripts were somewhat simple and straightforward.
