The late 60s were turbulent. I was born in '62 and remember the riots, the end of people's ability to leave their homes without locking their doors and the push for foul language and drug use.

The scene where she's riding down the street: It was filmed in Larchmont Village. You can see the Hollywood sign up on the mountain, waaaaay in the background.

@@hifijohn It wasn't supposed to be Manhattan. It was supposed to be far out of the city, somewhere upstate. But seeing the Hollywood sign off in the distance is a big giveaway that it's nowhere near New York!

I watched this show new, when I was a child. It is still good. The 1980s still had some parking meters in some towns. I remember seeing meter maids driving those little golf cart type vehicles during 1970s. My folks would put a nickel in the meter when they'd park at one. That raspy voice of Anne's gets on my nerves , but when I was a kid I didn't notice it. She is also very high strung.

Because this episode deals with corruption in city politics, producers felt it necessary to create the fictional town of Fenwick so as not to offend the citizens of Brewster, a real town. But this does present a continuity problem because it was established that Ann was born and raised in Brewster. They could have just had Mr. Marie's restaurant in nearby Fenwick while the family was living in Brewster.

I just noticed that Ted Bessell directed this episode. It is fast paced, funny, and very well done. I really liked Ted Bessell, so my opinion may be biased. Dennis Weaver was great in the guest starring role as the newspaper editor.

Small towns had meters during 1960s and 1970s. I think my parents just put in a nickel for their time. I once saw a meter maid writing a line on someone's rear tire, with a long pole.

Mountains and palm trees in Brewster, NY...hmmmm.. The mountains are kind of believable because of the Adirondacks but the palm tree... Just making fun, here. I LUV this series.
