The distributor chains won't absorb it either and will probably use the chance to blame tariffs to raise prices slightly more Then the transport costs went up because the US refused to stop helping the Israeli mass bombings, pissing off the Houthis. Followed by the mass printing of the USD which just made its real value shrink. If you travelled to China and bought something you could find locally, you would get the actual cost and find out how much more you are paying

But the average income is much lower in Russia than in the USA, so you have to look at their prices as a percentage of their disposable income. I think that's why Dan identifies many things that he says are too expensive.
@vivalarazausarmyvet44534 ай бұрын
Dan himself said that half or less than half of Russians are car owners. Clearly they make less money than Americans do.
@thomasottvideos4 ай бұрын
Actually, the cost of goods and services in Russia are relative to Russia's AVERAGE national income. The average national income in Russia is 1,240,000 RUB, which equals $14,000 in the USA. By comparison, the average annual income in the USA is $59,000 (5,200,000.00 RUB). So, when Dan calls out "cheap" prices in Russian stores, those prices "seem" to be a bargain by the USA's average annual income standards. By Russian economic standards, the prices are relatively expensive. The reality is that a $14,000 equivalent income in Russia doesn't go that far. So, that seemingly cheap $5.00 bottle of Russian liquor is similar to purchasing a $20.00 bottle of cheap liquor in the USA. In other words, all that glitters is not gold. °°°

Your English has improved remarkably in the last year, wow! In general, the prices in that store are about 1/2 what I pay in the middle of the US. As far as pet food is concerned, I mostly cook for my animals. They don’t like most pet goods.

Wow, I said the prices are 1/2 then you got to nuts. Yikes! Our nuts are cheaper than yours. You bought cashews & almonds. The super expensive ones are pistachios. I can buy 1.5 lbs of pistachios for $12. The pears you bought are Anjou pears. Your favorite “cabbage” is called broccoli. I think you’re saying “free yeast” bread and I think you mean what I’d call “wild yeast.” I’ve never seen that option in any bakery or store here, though I could do that myself.

That’s awesome.. but we as Americans are paid a lot of money.. Year 2022 $76,330. 00 .. Russia $15,270 or Rubles 13,590.3.. compare apples to apples.. we are 6X what ever they buy.. if they buy a loaf of bread for 190 rubles it’s like $2. Dollars.. but that’s the point. The bread in the United States on average $5… so we get things a lot cheaper than they do.. if your wages is 26k a year you have subsidy to balance it out ❤❤❤

I really enjoyed going shopping with you. I’m surprised the prices seem less than ours. Haven’t seen you for some time. Your English has really improved. thank you for sharing from Maryland USA. We do a lot of puzzles. Would share them with your Susie. Take care 🎉❤ The glass jars are called jars The tin items are cans. Barilla macaroni is good. I like that brand.

Your videos just came back. I've missed you adorables. I love your family and your country. Thank you for still being our friend. Thank you for not holding our deplorable government against all of us. Our family does not support aggression towards Russia or any other nation. Most American politicians are supporting our current cowardly actions most American people do not. God Bless us all.

No Dan we have to read the ingredients for all of the products we buy and a good rule if it’s in a package it’s probably not good for you, the good foods are the ones not in packages. Also another tip is that good unpackaged foods are on the outer aisles around the grocery store the Center aisles are the places with all the packaged and processed foods. So we usually just walk the outer perimeter of the grocery store and shop for our produce, our fresh meat, our dairy products and then that’s it we stay away from packaged foods. We try to buy our produce in season because it’s cheaper but you can buy all kinds of produce year round now but that wasn’t always the case. But with imports from the USA and Mexico there are a lot of fresh fruit that comes year round. I very much enjoyed this video. God bless! 🥰❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦🍁I think the exact same thing as you and I won’t use the checkouts where I have to do it myself I want to keep peoples jobs it’s the same here.

Hello Dan! Peanuts are a not the word for every nut! The first kind you put in your cart for Sati were Cashew nuts, the 2nd were Almonds, good for the brain are called Walnuts and Peanuts are small little "nuts" but they are actually legumes like beans! So if you talk about any nut just say nuts not Peanuts okay :) Blessings to you and the family! PS try to find BASMATI or JASMIN rice both are asian rice and soooooo good!!

Your English is so good! Yes, actual peanuts grow underground on the roots of the plant. The rest of those you showed are tree nuts growing on limbs. Your store looks fun!
