I would like to correct you. Chak chak has nothing to do with cashew. It's basically crispy cookies made from deep-fried pieces of dough mixed with honey syrup. Very tasty.

@@Whatarewetalkingabouthere looks awful, but it's a tatar desert, and i live in Tatarstan(which is a republic in russia). It's a very sweet and tasty dessert, wihch you won't like, if you don't like honey. By texture, it's giving more of fried cookies in syrup. It's very much quality related, and you need to find your own brand even here.

To tell the truth, you can easily close thеse glass jars and you don't need to consume the whole their contents once you open it. There are special nylon caps used for that purpose. They are sold in any supermarket and almost every family has it.

It’s natural drink. As to Kissel, it’s no jelly, it is made if fruit juce, boiled with cornstarch . It’s also natural health food and it’s good for poor stomach. Zefir (зефир) is very soft. It is a Russian version of marshmallow, but usually made with apple sauce, so it has a little different taste from a regular marshmallow. @@Motor4ik33, цитата из Википедии: Zefir is derived from the traditional Russian pastila confectionery, but with added egg white foam and a gelling agent. An addition of unwhipped egg whites to the recipe originated in the town of Kolomna sometime during the 15th century, and in the 19th century the zefir dessert most likely emerged in its modern form with whipped egg whites due to a French adaptation on the recipe that was later brought back to Russia. Not true, you can close those jars of juice - every russian home has nylon(plastic) caps that snaps perfectly to that jar. Also Tarfun and Dushes - are the best soda I ever tried, I also like kvas. Kisel is not "jelled juice" Its juice with starch - very good for little kids and for adults with health problem, very soft on your stomach. Pryanik is not cracker - its a Ginger bread. Tvorog is not Cottage cheese - its a farmers cheese that you can buy in US. What you called a "baby food" its just what we call in US an Apple sauce. And the preserved meat - its actually my favorite - its like a stewed meat that you can add to Kasha, or soup, or veggies and have a fast ready dish (I love it because I don't like to wait to hours until stewed meat get ready). You comment about bacon is been just smoked and not cooked is funny - what kind of bacon do you think you are getting in US - surprise - its also just smoked!! The cooked one you will get only in fast food restaurant. Regardless avocado and mango - you act like in US they sell them supersoft, they are also sell them hard as a rock in supermarket and you have to wait a week until they are ready to eat. Regarding Lays сheeps - I can tell you that every country has its own flavors, for example in Turkey there was Lays with yogurt, and some other flavors that I've never seen before.

As a Russian who recently moved to Canada I miss quite a few food items (kefir and pelmeni mostly). But mayonnaise and ketchup?! :-) "Mayo" is really popular in Russia and usually has a very long shelf life, it is also not a "controlled" product, producers don't have to report substitutes as the do for milk products. I think only Vkusvill made very expensive mayo from liquid eggs. Egg content in my favorite "Sloboda" was 1.7% as per the latest roskontrol tests (and this is totally expected). Non of them can remotely compete Hellmanns and even with Walmart's Great Value here in Canada. And even them pale in comparison with simple home made mayo. They aren't bad, mind you, I just don't miss the emulsified oil water mixture with some spices a single bit!! :-)

@@baghazukhov152in the 80s there was an economic crisis in the Soviet Union, a change began in the economic and political program that Gorbachev started, called “perestroika”. They tried to do what China eventually succeeded in doing, and the USSR collapsed. At that time, the stores had empty shelves, and people stood in lines, knowing when small batches of various products would be delivered. Almost all families had their own plots of land with houses outside the city, with vegetable gardens; this compensated for the lack of food in stores for personal consumption. Therefore, those who immigrated to the USA or Europe in those years were shocked by the abundance of goods abroad. Now this won’t surprise anyone in Russia; there’s everything in abundance.

In fact, not everything is so simple, when Coca-Cola left the Russian market, the factories that they left did not represent the same value, since the most important ingredient, cola syrup, was no longer supplied. For six months, the Dobry Cola company has been developing a recipe that is as similar in taste to the original as possible, of course, the taste is still different, but in my opinion, even for the better now. I have the opportunity to buy imported Coca Cola or Russian Dobry Cola, I prefer Dobry, the price is almost the same, but I like the taste more. You can't imagine how many people write, buy some special milk for pancakes. And we fry pancakes on ordinary milk, when it became sour and spoiled, these are such strange differences, but in fact there is no difference.About the stew separate laughter.Buckwheat porridge with stewed meat is generally a top, and "pasta according to the navy"..how do I say this in English?Pasta of the US Marine Corps soldiers😆And the compote? In winter, you come back from work, it's cold outside and open a jar of cherry compote, which you yourself made in the summer from cherries that you collected in the garden, these are not transferable sensations And a bunch of other things

Soviet-style eco-friendly package, especially keeping in mind that empty jars could be returned for recycling or used for home-made preservations.

But I am old enough to remember when everything was glass before all this plastic shit came and ruined it all. We had beer in plastic bottles for a while but they never sold because the plastic ruined the beer flavor.

Sea buckthorn berry flavoured things are also quite common in Finland. We also have those un-flavoured circle-shaped cracker things here. Halva originates from Iran, but it's common in many middle eastern countries, Greece, India, and Dijibouti. You can find vegan "caviar" in the US. Mangos and avocados and such are often stored in the cold, or else they get too ripe too fast. Green grapefruit is a thing. We also have sauna aisles in our big stores in Finland, because saunas are a big part of our culture (in fact, I just came out of the sauna like 2 hours ago).

Oooph, I have so much to correct in this video I don't even know where to start!!! We CAN seal our jars, we have flexible plastic caps that can be used for years, my mum still keeps them in the kitchen drawer, I prefer to buy smaller jars I can finish in several days. Zephyr should be on the softer side, think of souffle with a crispy crust and is made of mashed apples, thry are boiled and whipped till they become white. Eggplant "caviar" is orange because it also contains carrots, tomato sauce and oil. You found one brand of mouthwash that is literally called Forest balsam that specialises on "foresty" flavours, check any other brand - and you can find all kinds of minty fresh ones. I'm too lazy to write everything I disagree with you on coz it would literally take forever. I'm very sad that there are people who would watch this video and believe everything you say 😢

Kissel is a Russian smoothie that is centuries old. As a flavor base, local berries are used - cranberries, cherries, currants, etc. and fruits - apples, pears, etc. That is, what grows in Russia. But you can make kissel from the exotic. American smoothies are thickened with either a banana or oatmeal - Russian jelly is thickened with starch (potato or corn). In both cases, thickening occurs with starch, but bananas do not grow in Russia. Because of the thickener, the American smoothie is opaque. Russian kissel is always transparent (but colored because of the berries). A smoothie requires a chopping mechanism (mixer, blender) - Russian kissel is made without sophisticated equipment, just a saucepan and a stove (fire). It's hot in America, so smoothies are made cold. It is cold in Russia, so kissel is usually served hot or warm (it is not so tasty cold). By changing the amount of starch, Russian kissel can be very liquid or thicker. This allows you to use it both for drinking and as a gravy for pancakes, cheesecakes or other dishes. The calorie content of kissel is from 75 to 350 kilocalories per 100 gr. It has an enveloping effect, protecting the mucous membrane of the digestive organs, it is included in the menu for people with problems of the gastrointestinal tract. Like smoothies, the liquid base can be either water or milk. It should be noted that oats and banana can cause unpleasant toilet consequences. Starch does not cause such effects.

7:15 Russia has a law prohibiting the drinking of alcoholic beverages in public places, in other words, on the street. And people often want to drink alcohol, for example in the park or by the water. You can hide a bottle of beer in a paper bag or something else so that the police do not fine you. Therefore, some manufacturers produce bottles of beer already in a paper bag, as an advantage. Usually such a small paper bag is difficult to find and is sold in stores very rarely.

In Russia, the paper on a bottle of beer plays more of a brand role, with our police you will not be able to enter into a legal controversy "do they have the right to detain you if you drink alcohol in paper." If you argue, you will be detained harshly, you will spend half a day in the police station, harshly, and you will receive a fine. I think it's right. But, anyway, it happens that people drink in public places at their own risk.

I told him that was a good idea, to which the sergeant of those police said it was more than just a good idea, it was the law.
