i love your patience Matt, when a customer trying to tell you how to do your job. I was a carpenter, builder, in an area with a high concentration of various engineers, mech, elect., etc....and many a time, they tried to tell me, an architectural draftsman and architecture student, 15, 20 yrs experience in building at time, a career I choose, didn't fall into...how to build their house. Kudos on your patience.

Matt's resistance to say "Sir, please go up there and sit down" speaks volumes to his character. Sad thing is, the fellow, out of the goodness of his heart and just wanting to make it as easy as possible for Matt, had no idea that his role was not really helpful. I know how that works, being an old fellow. The "been there, done that" gets into you over 70 years or so, and you forget that other folks are generally up to the task.

You're way too sensitive. Is the client not allowed to talk or something? Not to mention they did exactly what he said. And Matt falls on his A** in this video. You'll all probably vote for Biden and praise him when he falls too. I mean really, you saying all of this is far worse than what the client allegedly did. Get over your pathetic microaggressions! Matt, I had to borrow one of your trailer loading techniques on Monday. We haul our big electric scissor lift on a tilt bed trailer. Unfortunately, the incline is too much for the unit and we get wheel spin, which means we have to put the shoulder to it and push, or use a fork lift or telehandler to boost it on the trailer (own boss won’t spring for a winch). So on Monday night after struggling, I pulled my vehicle up beside my nephew’s van(to which the trailer was attached) and we strung a towline from my hitch to the front off the lift. The lift was loaded in about 30 seconds with a short tug.

Just a thought for the winch power.. on my truck (I use a receiver mounted winch so I can shift it between my trailer, and truck) I've run 1/0 to my rear bumper and front bumper. I made a 1/0 8' extension with winch quick disconnects on each side. That way I can power my winch from my truck battery/alt. I used to have a battery hard wired into my trailer tool box, but I found more so in the winter it wasn't getting charged enough to winch anything. I also made a 2" 1/0 clamp cable I can plug into the 8' extension to use for boosting... I can boost of the front or rear of my truck, with a HO alt and a big battery I've boosted cars, truck and cranes.

Two things. First, Matt, everyone in his crew, and all the others who do rescue work - everybody from civilian medevac flight nurses, search and rescue, ski patrol, urban EMS, and others - deserve that the rest of us stand and sing their praises. Their hard-earned skill, the risks, their injuries, hospitalizations, and - yes - fatalities make them true heroes, an accolade to which they say 'just doing my job'. Second, in some cases, sympathy for those who are rescued is deserved. But for many others, not so much.

@sweet65mustang
@sweet65mustang Жыл бұрын
@@harrywhiterow2782 I get that but thats not my point. no, it's not only about what someone wants to do. There are annoying little things like what you can't do and shouldn't do that get in the way and there are a lot of people that are trying to take those things where they shouldn't and physically can't, no matter how badly they want to. I see it all the time on youtube and irl. People taking things where they don't belong and being in reasonable people's way. Like driving down a road that's clearly indicating they shouldn't be trying and then having to back up or turn around but as indicated, they don't know their limitations so now they're stuck blocking traffic. It's great when they pay someone to help them but a lot of the time it's decent people that get stuck wasting their time, risking themselves and their equipment so they can get through. There has always been large pull behinds and RVs, what's changed is the affordability and where people think they can take them.

We all take spills from time to time. Now that your winch is further up, you should weld some vertical square tubing up on the front edge of the the platform so you can put a 3 ft square tubing into it with a permanent heavy duty snatch block on it. So you can have multiple high points snatching positions to choose from to change your pulling direction. You could put heavy duty pins in it and drill multiple holes in your 3 ft riser to choose the height of said snatch position. It seems like a good idea. Js
