We enjoyed sharing some of our essential items whilst ‘dismantling’ - or packing, the van. Let us know what you think and as always thanks for watching. P.S links in bio should you want them. Safe travels and thanks again.

You can never pack too much stuff as it’s all really important and may come in handy..well that’s what I tell myself anyway. If an item has not been used for some time then that’s one thing less to replace..bonus. Bodging stuff in an emergency is an essential art form every chap/chapess should master but you tend to go beyond bodging and make it into a project for our viewing pleasure. Love watching you guys and the massive transformation of the bus. Wings and rocket pack next please.

Ah we do love a bodge. As you say sometimes absolutely essential when on the road. Thanks so much for watching Simon, hope you have a bodge free week 😂 (likewise so do we).

Such a neat packing job! I'm from the US and my personal must-have to pack is my HomeFi router, I work from home and it's been able to get me connection all over the country. Thanks for the video!

Thanks so much. Ah that’s an absolute must for sure. Ours is so handy and ironically works so much better once we are in Europe. It’s so fast. I bet it’s well setup in the States too.

Perfect and neat. Congratulations. ---- (one thing: a French official recently pointed out to us that camper vans m u s t use the BLIND SPOT stickers for BUSES (not those for lorries) ... Yes, they are different! Fortunately we did not have to pay the €135 fine ... Changed them immediately...) Maybe reconsider the sticker's position on the backdoor, because it is not to be noticed from the rear right corner, due to the AC-box) Obviously the French are very picky on these stickers ... Have a good and safe trip - and always have a drop of Diesel left ...
@WanderbusAdventures5 ай бұрын
Ah that’s some useful advice. Thanks Tom. Will move it when possible (might be too late). Did spot a van with the sticker wrapped on the back pillar. So may have to switch to that.

Hey guys, yes I'm an over packer, I pack the caravan for all eventualities, it's always fully stocked with non perishable foods, prior to every trip I sit and do a full menu for the entire trip (by day, split into morning, lunch, evening meal), as for everything to do with the van, my awning and spare bedroom pod is stored under on of the twin beds, under the other bed is my awning kitchen equipment (all electrical, due to being on hook up, I try not to use gas where possible), chairs are under the n/s sofa, my front box is just like your garage, full of everything important, water hose, water hook up, drain hoses, toilet chemicals, spare bits, tools, gas bottle and spare bottle, basically everything has a home, and it has to be put away in it's place. Have fun over the holidays, Neil

@@WanderbusAdventures Thank you, I'm still trying to chase upon a position of driving HGV trucks, I've currently just started driving HGV Class Two's with a company that has Class one trucks too, But it is agency work but fingers crossed it works out for me. As for my own Mecerdes Vario I have been working on making new lower inner Cills and lower outer Cills, I'm not repalcing full cills as they may be to expensive hence taking to making my own, So just making bottom half Cills, Plus teaching myself Mig welding. I''ve also made new inner Wheel arches. None of you I know have heard from me for sometime, Sadly 😥my late mom became very poorly and the result of it she passed away 24th May 2024; The reason why also I have not really been able to work on my van or look for employemnt. It's been an awful expereince but hey onwards and upwards is what I keep saying, But to be honest I have missed the chances of being able to see you all again at the Strafford Upon Avon Show where I first met you. If you do however come across Graham - Sometimes I wonder & John & Kerry J_K Roaming & Rubys Meanderings Dave, Say hello to them for me please if you not mind because I haven't forgotten about them, Happy Jollies 😎, Steve from Manchester. Respect ♥.

There's always an element of getting back after a trip and there being a bunch of stuff that's never even been touched/opened. I hate having carried it, but the plus point is "ah well, I don't need to clean / buy that again"
@WanderbusAdventures5 ай бұрын
That’s a nice positive way to look at it. We do like a good clean out to reveal the unused stuff. Thanks for sharing and watching

You gotta love a game of van Tetris 😂😂 How you looking weight wise with all the new additions?
@WanderbusAdventures5 ай бұрын
100% Tetris required. I think weight wise we are pretty close. We saved some weight adding the new drivers seat - an unexpected bonus. And the metal doors weirdly were a bit lighter than the ones with glass in. So overall we are definitely heavier than we were but with some minor savings elsewhere. We had around 300kg to play with before adding the new stuff, but a weighbridge visit might be on the cards to be sure.
@ian_morg5 ай бұрын
@@WanderbusAdventures I was thinking after I posted that the glass might have made the doors heavier but you have added some nice additions on the new ones. Have a fab time away 😎👍🏻
@WanderbusAdventures5 ай бұрын
@ian_morg oh for sure they are heavier. The air con is 24kg. So not super heavy. But it adds up.

Ha! You’re probably right there. Better refrain from fitting a towbar 🤔
@cherryturbojames5 ай бұрын
I reckon you could make some use of the huge space in the spare wheel on the back . If I could share a pic here I would . I basically had a piece of stainless cut on the water jet and made a bracket to hold it in place. I don't keep anything of great value in there but then no one would ever know there's anything in there other than a cover. I really don't think u over packed looked spot on to me . 1 question if it was a luxury mini bus it would have had underslung storage at the sides is there any scope for fitting an underslung storage box on one of the sides
@WanderbusAdventures5 ай бұрын
Thanks mate. We’ve seen a similar idea on VWs and like the thought of using the wheel to store some lightweight stuff. Perhaps tow ropes and things like that. Will give it some thought. It does have one space where we’ve not underslung anything but most space underneath has been used for various tanks etc.

@@WanderbusAdventures my spare on the lil van is 14 inch but every spare inch counts lol . I hope you have an amazing holiday. Air con is an absolute essential in Europe I don't know how these van lifers do it with out it when we did Europe we would use the vans air con almost constantly to get the van cool enough to sleep.
