Will continue to put it to the test, and we can likely see how much power it uses too. Will keep you posted.

Wow Thanks for sharing...i use to live in that place when i was a kid 40odd years ago, had to walk to school same path you took into town, no car so its not all $$$. We use to hate the regatta was on, far to msny jammed into that place
@WanderbusAdventuresКүн бұрын
Ah brilliant. Yes the regatta sounds hectic! Do like the sound of the illuminated boat parade though. Sounds a bit more chilled out.

So when it's pouring rain how's it going to work sitting outside?
@WanderbusAdventuresКүн бұрын
Great question. Others we know tend to either put them under then van, venting the exhaust away. Or under cover - the hose we have currently doesn’t allow for that so we’ve some thinking to do. The case is weather resistant (not waterproof) but I’d not leave it in the open rain that’s for sure.
@ithoughtitoldyou19562 күн бұрын
The Libtardo Operator is the flaw I think everyone can easily see why. How retarded HUH Kink the hose as soon as it comes out of the heater then run 3 ft of noninsulatd hose to 90% angle to the front pointing sidways and wonder why there is no heat in the back . That is clearly a Libtardo job . Honestly kiss off
@WanderbusAdventures2 күн бұрын
The heater unit, the form factor and overall setup is great on this. The power supply though is iffy. It really should have a two pin supply and we will be swapping that out in a future video. Same story with the non-fused plug. For this vlog I wanted to test it as is - so hope you enjoy. Bonus if you stick around to see the window vent prototype in the latter stages of the vid. Thanks for watching.

No way this thing has CE rating with a high voltage C13 input on a (unearthed) 12V circuit in a partly metal housing - this is dangerous and potentially deadly ...
@WanderbusAdventures2 күн бұрын
Unsure how it does have a CE rating with the setup here - I am no compliance expert but it didn’t look right to me. But it is marked on the case 🤔. It worked fine with the transformer, but the main consideration is you could plug a ‘kettle’ lead into it. Plus no fuse. Not good - which is a shame really as the concept and setup otherwise has potential. I think the Sunster unit has a similar setup, keen to get eyes on that.
@MrFarmersimКүн бұрын
Other countries using the CE mark system don’t have fuses. The fuse might prevent a fire, best to have protection from rcbo than fuse
@MrFarmersimКүн бұрын
Using the c14 for 12 dc is definitely non compliant
@fattyfisher13 күн бұрын
Rich...is that thing CE marked? I can't see how it can have possibly passed approval, none fused supply on the transformer, none standard plug socket that could take a 230v plug not just a 12v one and an exhaust outlet that will contact the floor below.... seems more than a bit dodgy. Great video as always, but not sure you should be putting your good name to this accident waiting to happen mate 👍
@WanderbusAdventures3 күн бұрын
Hey. The box is CE marked yes, so I am right it should have a fused plug? It is fused inside for the 12v part, but stick to my thoughts it should have a fused plug for sure. The exhaust is close, and it touched the raised part of my table: which would be bad. I definitely should say that somehow the box doesn’t get hot and there is a gap below the exhaust - albeit small. I guess a small air gap provides more insulation that I’d first thought. Like a madman I touched the box right next to the exhaust to check this. But as I said I wouldn’t rest this on something plastic. For me the legs should be an inch longer or so to be safer.

Heat wise I should have mentioned it seemed okay. The box itself wasn’t hot at all. But on the flow side it’s one for a long term test I reckon.

The temperature thing is not the biggest problem to deal with because you can cool down while having a quick shower or just a ice pack on your head but it's the humidity so humidity needs to focus its energy on developing highly efficient dehumidifier
@WanderbusAdventuresКүн бұрын
This is a good point. When we get a hot spell I’ll see what my RuuviTags show in terms of humidity. This is why you hear people say, ‘yeah but it’s a dry heat’. When on holiday. Great point.

How'd you get it to work with your diesel heater. I have a similar unit but as my remote requires a long press to turn on the heater the smart unit doesn't seem to be able to send an extended signal.
@WanderbusAdventures9 күн бұрын
Hey. So not sure if it can do a long press. However ours is ‘longer’ on the controller than any other thing in our bus so there’s hope. When you ‘learn’ the buttons at the bottom there’ll be something that allows you to check the frequency. Make sure you do that as ours wasn’t 433hz - it was slightly different. After that you can add each button and it’ll remember the frequency. Hope this works for you.

I'm doing a restoration of a 2000 Vario chassis cab, you're dead right everything takes so long. I've stripped it all down now and the scuttle panel has had it like yours, thankfully the windscreen surround is not that bad but I'm going to take out the windscreen anyway. Can I ask where you got your new scuttle panel? I can't seem to find one. Also thanks for adding all the products you're using, I'll be ordering the same. Thanks for the great videos that have helped me with my restoration 👍
@WanderbusAdventures18 күн бұрын
Brilliant. Sounds like a great project. Will you be putting a box on the back? Glad the rust isn’t as bad too! The scuttle is available directly from Mercedes. You need to find a commercial dealership and they’ll be able to get one for you. At the time it was pretty reasonable - we use Rygor commercials if you happen to be local to them. They even deliver to us, which we find amazing.
@funkytechnic-zx1zg18 күн бұрын
@WanderbusAdventures Yes I'll be putting a box back on, hopefully building my own expedition style if I get better at the welding! You've done a great job on yours I must say 👏 I'll have a look at who is my local Merc dealer, really appreciate the advice, cheers

1/2" Pex pipe fits on the drain outlets nicely. One can then drain the condensation with a very clean appearance.
@WanderbusAdventures20 күн бұрын
Interesting. Will check that out as would be neater for sure. Also since install have made a couple of small changes and have some other ideas: - have made a cover for when not in use to keep road dirt from getting inside - considering a quick disconnect for when not in use, so the cable is not stressed. Seems sensible for winter months - but thinking in that. Thanks for the tip. Love to improve things.

Hey Rich and gang, your absolutely right there Rich it's campsite etiquette to clean the shower behind you, leave it how you would want to find it, I went to Henley on Thames many years ago to watch the boat races, plus one of my commanding officers used to live close by and we had to go through Henley to pick him up every day, all the best, and safe travels Neil
