Humbly I gave Dave my respect when I ran into him backstage in 1991 walking around at MSG, NYC after meeting the band at HMV records. By the way Dave and Tom (Araya) really down to earth nice guys. RIP Jeff Hanneman

Dave Lombardo...super nice guy and the one drummer I stole my speed and licks from in the 80s. I got to hang out with him in the early 80s in the "Hell Awaits" days. He was a huge hardcore punk fan and watched us "Final Conflict" rehearse one night.

Well Paiste RUDEs like the ones Dave uses are pretty loud cymbals, so if Dave uses them in the studio too it's almost no surprise that the engineer had trouble recording them. I think he's taken to only using RUDEs live and 2002s in the studio which is probably a better choice.

Argh, these interviewers sound like teenagers sometimes, always expecting talk of sex, drugs, excess and decadence. "It might have been coke"... sigh. Dave and John and many of your other guests are mature, experienced, intelligent musicians. Just let them be themselves, don't try to steer them down the road of "Did you ever throw a TV out of a hotel room window?"
