That duo fuzz is so sick. Most modern fuzzes seem more like distortion pedals than fuzz. The duo is more like what I think about when it comes to a fuzz. Does anyone make one like it currently?

+Daniel TheGigRig sorry to bother you Daniel! I use transitor amps and fuzzes, (sacrilege I know. Can't afford tubes yet... Haha) do you know any pedal /effect or technique to "round" square waves of a Fuzz? Thank you very much! Cheers from Uruguay!
@TheGigRigDaniel9 жыл бұрын
+Juan Martin Reborati very tricky, you could try compressors or a valve based pedal, but my advice is to simply keep saving for a decent valve amp ;)

Video's 4 years old and still gettin' love and passing down little nuggets of wisdom. I just got my first real fuzz at age 40. PigDog Prosecutor. Mk2 with the Filter from a mk3. I didn't know pedals could do that. It roared and there were tube amp heads in the room that shivered and cowered in the corners. All of my pedals have taken on a new (dangerous) life and for some reason all I wanna do is learn to shred now.Never say never.

Of course you love steve Williams fuzz pedals. And of course you love the strymon Deco.. Because you know about tone .. And you're a pretty good guitar player too.. Cheers...

The JUJU is a MK3 Tonebender.. NOT a MK1. And yes its killer. I have had 4 of his pedals.. the Driver and Juju being my favorite. I really enjoy you laid back videos.. I actually bought the MKII based on your killer video.

Fuzz is a very slippery slope indeed, so many flavors. What variation of the Tonebender circuit is the Supa Bender?

Great comparison. I have a couple of the original greybox superfuzzes and they sound a bit different from each other, plus they both seem to sound best through an overdriven amp as opposed to a clean amp -- not sure the reason for this or the differences between the two of them. I've also had a difficult time in general using fuzzes in a band setting since it seems like instant armageddon, so they sit on my board unused :( Fun to play in an individual setting, though!

Do they cut bass at all? Which one do you prefer with the j20? The mkII and the fuzz bound seem to have the most mids! Would you choose a tone bender over a fuzz face for the j20? My two high end fuzz faces seem to lack a bit of mids and attack. Thanks!

Do tonebenders take away midrange for solos?
@MrFrenchHarp7 жыл бұрын
Yes but the vox V828 mk1.5 tonebender is loaded w mids and also some of these benders will work into a good treble boost or colorsound overdriver for stacking and eq control for better cut in the mix. Many pros did just that for live use.
