Hot take: the "analysis" tab is better than the "moments" tab. "Analysis" gives more context on previous moves, suggested moves, etc. The moments page tells you "you capitalized on a blunder" without showing the blunder. It tells you "you made a blunder" without showing the suggested move! etc. Anyway, great series!

You inspired me to start playing chess, it’s crazy how when you’re watching a game you’re like “wow how could he miss the obvious fork what a blunder” but then you play and get a 600 rating, truly blows my mind how this man can play games as well and he does while talking
@simpleman4251

watching ryan: "y'know it's crazy but if you sac your queen to take the rook there, it forces a crazy trade that allows you to take their queen for free later and be up on points overall!" Actually playing: stumbles through the opening and gets forked out of a rook within 4 moves

True, I chalk it up to subtly he does all sorts of moves I don't understand in the least, yet can also overlook some things that are more obvious, largely due to the commentary thing. Definitely has his lapses but honestly probably one of the very best for talking and maintaining a certain degree of attention in spite of that.

@Hyperion Dionysus of course, in the last position NL jumps his knight into g3 with check (the knight attacks in an L shape -- 2 up and 1 over). So the opponent has to move their king. At the same time though their queen is also 2 squares down and one square over from the knight meaning after white moves their king the knight can take that queen!
@ysqure3
@ysqure3 4 жыл бұрын
