You should not trust the video. Their research is mostly wrong. Your phone can get quite hot when charging, especially if it's hot. It's completely normal. Keep in mind, your phone is a computer with no cooling system whatsoever. The BMS monitors the battery temperature and stops charging if the temperature climbs too high, displaying a battery overheat error. Do your own research. Don't blindly trust the first thing you see. I encourage you to go on sites that specialize in LiPo, Li-Ion and LiFePo safety. Trust me, I've been working with electronics and RC batteries for a while. Doing proper research helps a lot more than one untrustworthy video.
@pmsavenger5 жыл бұрын
@@PunakiviAddikti I know that it turns off, and I know about the warning, the fact that I got said warning is why I got concerned. ^_~ I know the difference between somewhat hot and "painful to touch"-hot, too, and I don't really feel like doing more research because this video answered by only question I had(which was much appreciated) and that's all I needed. But thanks anyway. :) No idea what the Li-stuff is though, I'm guessing Lithium, although unless we're talking Nirvana or salt, I'm going to take a pass on that. ^^ But some of the temperature issues stopped happening when I turned off the hotspot when I was charging it over night, I don't need it then anyway, and it seem to be cooler when I don't let it run for days on end. Oh, but try to not be rude about how people go about finding info, you don't know my original level of research nor my method of going about finding information(nor or what level I am interested in finding information either, I am actually not very interested in deep diving in to info about phone batteries, this was quite enough for the level I wanted). But it's not very nice to tell people to do things in a certain way when you don't know the person. ^_~ But if it is super important to you, perhaps you should share what parts are wrong. :)

You do realize that Lithium Ion batteries only ignite when overcharged or short circuited? What actually causes these batteries to ignite during charging is usually a knockoff protection circuit. Just stepping on your phone or dropping it doesn't damage the battery. Lithium Ion batteries are solid state batteries. They're solid and stable. The only way to get a LiPo battery to ignite is to puncture it with a conductive solid object. That story about the power bank is completely false. It's impossible. Even if he took the battery out of the power bank and threw it, it would have not ignited. Power banks also typically use Lithium Ion batteries, more specifically 18650 cells. Same with charging your phone when it's full. The BMS (battery management system) keeps the battery charged, but stops charging when the battery is full. It does *not* keep charging. That would overcharge the battery and make it unstable. This video needs some fact checking. I don't know where you got this research, but it's not legit.

2:17 my dear, please think a bit before saying something. Battery will consume energy until its voltage and supply's voltage are equal. Of course, there are a few thousands of electrons flying off sharp edges so the current draw will never reach zero, but once we achieved the best possible equilibrium, we can't shove more electrons into the battery. And no electrons means no current, which means no heat. That's it. 2:45 also, THREE chips must get damaged for your phone's battery to get some damage. First, the voltage regulator in your charging brick. Second, the charging controller in your phone. Some phones use data lines to tell the charger to stop the flow of current (and resume it, as well), but most have the charging controller in the phone that does the job. And the third chip is the BMS inside the battery (it's covered in yellow (kapton) tape). Maaaaybe some phones don't have them in the battery, oh well, they just put the BMS on the motherboard. Makes sense.
