I love the whole concept of that musical - we listen and watch a new doorman letting in one doppleganger after another despite noticeing and pointing each mishaps they head with their disguises and alibies but in the end we find out that he probably was simply giving an advices to less skilled monsters as he was the perfect doppleganger who managed to not only fool the D.D.D. but also us.

Yes. I think it was in china, where in big apartment buildings there would be someone making sure no one sketchy would come in working right there in their apartment. Even if this is complete bullshit (my source is sketchy and I'm too lazy to check), in a world where shapeshifting monsters walk around it seems kind of reasonable to have someone check everyone who wants to enter an apartment complex, and why not one of the residents?

And since the creator's name is Nacho and he's made a few references to Spain in his posts, plus had the game translated to castillian spanish from the start. Well I'mma guess this is more influenced by european apartments. I mean, it's been a LONG time since "keeping sketchy people out" has been part of the core job of a doorman. But yeah, every large appartment block or group of them tends to have one, they're kind of important for emergencies. And back when crime rates were way higher dealing with weirdos was part of the job. Hell even nowadays they can get called for that purpose sometimes, it just doesn't tend to happen because, well, criminality here in europe is pretty damn low nowadays. I dunno how it is in USA but I have to guess the same applies.

On my first listen, I took it literally, that the doorman thinks these people are his human neighbors and has a clear connection with them. However, when I rewatched the video knowing the doorman is a doppelgänger, it became clear that when he says "neighbors", he means his kin, the other doppelgängers. He's given an opportunity to drop his act without seeming suspicious to potential security cameras or nearby D.D.D agents, and he takes it in a heartbeat. I haven't seen anyone talking about this line, but it's one of the reasons this is such a genius twist.😁
