OH Tom!!!! This was such a profound conversation, much needed! I'm 35, just started playing with makeup a year ago, and I have to say that tutorials were not only game changers, they were Life savers for me those first 6 months. I would watch like 3 in-depth tutorials a day, as if I was in school. Now that I have a few skills technique-wise and shade matching and color theory-wise, I really enjoy putting on videos just to listen to people talk about makeup. Sometimes as they talk about it, or they're getting ready, they share a little hack or technique that I wouldn't come across otherwise! Why do humans think their cliques need to be exclusive? When it is clear that we all want different things, ergo, different things should be offered - we are all more enriched by each other's presence, contributions and personal experience. I'm a huge fan of Hannah LP and Kackie, I've learned so much from all of your guys' videos about beautifying yourself, loving your collection and holding a critical eye to BIG Beauty in general. Your channel has been the best as far remaining authentic to your values and your content. I've always been a rebel, critical thinker, fiercely independent, non-trend follower, outspoken woman, and I think it's been the coolest thing about your channel to see the same. Go forth: tits out baby girl! 💐🏆

Love the title so so much. I am in no way a medical professional, however, I do struggle with allergies & this spring/summer has been particularly brutal. The sneezing has been wild 😭 What helps me is flonase nasal spray. I buy the generic one from aldi for $8 & it's a life saver! Sometimes it takes a day or two to really start working but wow what a fantastic drug! Btw I love everything you were saying about trends & people being bullies. The makeup community can feel like a very lonely place at times (for me) & I love watching your content no matter what. You could literally sit & read the phone book, I'd watch.

I'm 45 with three almost- grown kids. I look back on my life and wonder what could have been if I took a different path. I realized a while back that every path you ever take is necessarily keeping you from taking a thousand others. For example, if you had dated in your teens, that would necessarily mean that you wouldn't have spent as much time alone in your teens. What effect would that have on you now? We can't know. Maybe you learned to be comfortable with yourself during that teen alone time. Maybe you avoided some shitty or even abusive relationships. Maybe it would have been great and would have taught you a lot about dating as an adult. It's weird and interesting to imagine alternative lives, alternative selves. I appreciate you articulating this idea.

Totally agree on your points re panning content (as in thats how I feel too. I think its great this content is there tho and it def has helped my mindset on things like 'I really should use up the base products I have and love before buying a shiny new one!). I really enjoy this type of video where you put makeup on and talk about stuff in the space (or not!). I see lots of comments on a few people I watch from people who say they don't even wear makeup but love to watch that persons channel because they find it soothing/funny etc, and I always think thats so lovely

Love this take on the latte trend! As a cool toned girlie i was not about the caramel tones, but this iteration is gorge 😍 Im 33 so i know what you mean about your twenties and teens really being over and you dont ever get to redo them. Its seems like it should be obvious but i think it can catch you by surprise when you really internalize it. Your sneeze story was too real! I was at work and someone sprayed a fragrance and i had a full on grandpa level sneezing fit. It was was so bad 😂

I don't know about Mecari, but yes, on eBay you can save searches, and then get notified by email or text if products with those search terms are listed. It's so handy! One of mine is an old Chanel discontinued powder (sobs!)

I tried to get into the latte trend, and I think that's when I made the choice to just not bother with a lot of them. I don't care for brown make up, I have it and it really useful for me, but I can't imagine just using it for a whole look. I think learning about what I actually like about makeup has helped a lot. That and recognizing that I can like make up and trends by just appreciating people who did it themselves. This is a visual medium afterall and we have the tools for that. Like your look is so nice and gentle, like I really love it. But probably won't try a look like that. And that's fine. Also, I totally sympathize with the sneezing. I sneeze and it's the loudest and most shockingly painful experience. Like I sneeze and I'm just dumbfounded by how my skeleton want to jump right out of my body, thru my nose.

Came for the make-up, stayed for the judgement abolition discourse, stayed even longer for the sneeze confessional. Also sugar middles and glucose baddies of all ages are surely a thing and you'd absolutely be a candidate if you wanted to be!

1) The thing with the internet is everyone THINKS they should share their opinions when in reality sometimes it should just stay an inside your head thought or something you say to your friends. Truly i dont understand how people have the delusional confidence to share some of the things/criticism/opinions they do on social media. 2) You’re not too old to be a sugar baby just means the sugar daddy will have to be even older. It’s all about that age ratio 😜

I have what I'd call a milky bronzer. It's from PUR their 4 in 1 bronzer. It's great for fair skin. It came out years ago and don't think many people ever talk about it. Raw Beauty Kristi did a review back when. It's a really really beautiful bronzer for fair and light skin. I'm neutral tone and it's perfect for me 😊

I feel similar about panning. I'm glad I tried it and am still having multiple products I'm focusing on but wo putting any real pressure on myself. I follow a few channels where people are just likeable and nice to listen to that I can relate too.

"If you're gonna gossip, do it behind their back" honestly, I agree lol. Honesty is important but being sensitive to others' feelings is more important. And it is fun to throw some shae every once in a while but just don't target one person and bully them. Or abviously don't do it to complete stangers on the internet but for some reason that's lost on some people

i love the tik tok makeup trends that just give a cute name to a pretty makeup look and then we all do it like you know what?! i DO want to look like a strawberry girl. that’s exactly what that look is. so far the bunny tongue one has been the absolute most absurd and cute one imo i love it

Thank you so much for bringing up that part about judgmental queers. I *think* I'm queer but I don't *look* queer (look pretty fuckin normie cis het) and the queer communities I've tried to hang around have been quite unwelcoming to me.
