I've watched a number of your videos over the past few days, and I just wanted to say (as a native speaker) that I can really tell the difference in how your accent has improved in this video compared with videos from 6+ months ago. You're so close to perfect!

I'm an American not sure why I'm watching this video, but one thing I wanted to know is I find myself looking at someone's mouth while they talk reading lips as they speak. It's just a habit because I can talk to someone on a phone without a problem. What happens is the other person notices I'm not looking them in the eyes when they talk. I wonder if non-native English speakers do this. My wife reminds me not to do that because she tells me should be looking someone in the eye.

When a sailor says "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot," they are using the NATO phonetic alphabet to spell out "WTF." This is a humorous and more polite way of expressing surprise, confusion, or disbelief, as "WTF" is an abbreviation for "What The F**k."

The video was handy in terms of our practical lives. Please, don't take it differently but as far as I know when the letters of a short-form word of something are pronounced together as a normal word then it is called an acronym. On the other hand, if we pronounce the letters of a short-form word separately then it is a part of initialism. So, all the short-form words you mentioned were actually not acronyms.

Anna, pero esos acrónimos se deben de usar en conversaciones informales, porque no me imagino a alguien hablando con esos acrónimos en el hospital, en el banco, con tu jefe. Es más, haciendo oraciones completas con los mismos 🤦🏽‍♂️

Personally I find them useless and confusing, languages what ever they are they should've been spoken without acronysms. It seems for me a language for teenagers, just for fun and used in a informal situation, otherwise they are not elegant at all. In my humble opinion.

Thanks a lot for this lesson Anna. I'm still not used to using acronyms at my English level but I rarely do. By the way, I'm glad to know that you're learning Spanish and that's really good. We know you're already a proficient in English considering that your native language is Ukrainian and you're learning another language like Spanish and that's just amazing. My English level isn't very high yet to be honest but I wanna be able to communicate a little with native English speakers as soon as possible because I don't have anyone who speaks English within my current and boring environment where I live. But I love learning English with any teacher or adviser I find here on the platform. 🥲❤💯

This might be controversial, but, there's also the issue with speakers ... of any language, who don't fully grasp, or have mastery of the only language they know. We see this everywhere in many lower economic areas where immigration is also prevalent, and we often see degenerate and "working class" dirivatives of the root language. Drastic but classic instances of this can be observed in "Cockney" English, and other accents or derivatives. As to English acronyms, I have encountered FOMO, or Fear Of Missing Out; the feeling of "missing out" on opportunity, or experience if one doesn't go do all the things that "everyone else" is doing. This also has historic versions such as "keeping up appearances", and "Keeping up ith the Joneses" where one feels compelled to stay abreast of current events, trends, fashion, gadgets, and all things culturally relevant for good social cohesion.
