It's an old toy, the saxaboom. It plays small songs depending on what buttons you press. Jack Black just figured out a way to chain them together that really slaps, and that's where this music comes from.

Note that MH1 had buffing horns too (called flutes) not just the monster attracting one seen in the video, and were actually used pretty frequently. This is because making them required only a Medium Monster Bone and a Mega Demondrug/Armorskin, and while only giving a regular Demondrug/Armorskin buff the Flute could be reused hunt after hunt until it broke through RNG (which could be after one use). This is particularly important for MH1 because buffing items like this were not sold in shops and there was no farm, so each one had to be gathered from the field meaning anything reusable was a huge time saver.

Ive only heard a couple pf people take about it, but it just ain't happening. The buffs expire. It like if you have to retake a mega demon drug ever minute. And if you really tried to optimize this strategy you need someone to run a melody extend horn, and those with that song are limited and usually only accessible in the late game. If people have problems getting birds in rise, they sure as hell aren't going to waste a weapon slot on a choir.

The moment I saw the weapon swap mechanic while riding on the mount I got the feeling the most popular strat in multiplayer could be for everyone to have a good status ammo rapid firing Light Bowgun as the backup weapon. Everyone circles the monster rapid firing para shot then dismount for weapons like GS and Charge Blade to get in their strongest attacks then hop on back on their Seikret and begin another volley of status shots. Bonus points if you can get a HH user with a horn that has Large Attack and/or Affinity buff songs. Wonder if they may add a new song that also buffs Status ailment application unless the Element Boost song does that already
