I’d bet the 2120lb hitch rating is the generic rating for the hitch hardware itself. I went the opposite way and traded a Cummins for my Power Wagon. Pros and cons with every truck, gotta get what suits your needs best!

A little late but yeah on the ford truck builder you can select the option to down rate the tag to 10,000lbs for certain registration situations.

That's a gorgeous truck! I also have experience with, what was previously Spradley Barr, Ken Garff Fort Collins. They didn't get the payoff correct on my trade in and a month later they called and I owed them an additional $1500. They are a joke now that it's a nationwide owner now. The games are a joke. Also, for theft purposes, you should install a hidden disconnect so they can't clone anything and steal that beast

You would be amazed at how good a detailer can make a vehicle look, I have seen trucks that were trashed inside outside and under the hood, but the right person can make it look like it just came off the showroom floor!

The power wagon sounded great and I know you really liked it but with you pulling trailers as you say you do you’ve made the right call. And that Ford is a good looking truck. It's the same hitch for all models But the truck itself go by the door stickers for your weights. The hitch may handle more but the truck itself may not. But a very nice truck ant wait to see what you do upgrade wise.

What you are explaining about that Ford dealership isn’t new, it happens here also in Ontario, Canada. Ford dealerships are trash. That’s why we only buy from Chevy dealerships. On a side note, I hope you don’t start having diesel engines problems where they have to take the body off the frame and dealing with warrenty, you will be living out of a rental for a long time. I wish you good luck with that. I would never buy a Ford diesel. Drive them as tow trucks and they were junk. I also drive dodge trucks and it was always transmissions problems. We never have problems with Chevy trucks.

When you order 250 superduty you can check a box to keep GVWR @ 10k. Your GAWR total is important and should probably match up with the 11k+ numbers. When ordered the 10k box was checked probably to keep it from bumping up in weight class. The over 10k weight class can cause extra title/reg fees in some states. Look up the order guide and/or vehicle tech spec for your year/model. Ford has great aftermarket info. Dealer sales in my experience are all ignorant as hell on truck specs.

PS. (more of a message for viewers reading) Take your time when reviewing contracts and having them explain and justify every line until YOU are happy with the answer. ABWTWA (Always Be Willing To Walk Away) I had to call ford corporate while the paperwork guy was fuming mad to get a real answer. They also tried to get me to swap into a different contact and tried to just get me to sign it. Do not give into the pressure and feel free to leave and come back later if you are getting a HARD sell pressure in the front office or back office. You made a great point to read up on the dealer website for details. Remember they are very well practiced at pressuring people to do what THEY want, don't yield anything to them. Don't tell them anything that's not specifically related to the sale. Get outside financing before the paperwork starts. They can and will use anything you say to gain leverage over you. Don't get emotionally attached to buying a vechicle that day, and let me know this. When ask if you are serious about buying a car today; toss it back and ask if they are serious about selling a vehicle today. It's a war of will power and they are good at playing that game. Very sad they play these games, but they do. At least in the San Jose, CA area they do. Also they lied to me between front office sale and back office and put 'ceramic coating' on the vehicle and when I refused it, it was disappeared. lies, lies, lies. Just be direct, and willing to walk away. Also, locksmiths can make keys. At least in 22 F-150s, if you have two admin keys (not MyKey) the manual should tell you how to program spare keys. No 300dollar keys/reprogramming fees. I have an XLT with key plus fob lock. If you have physical key system, you can also buy a key-fob that allows you to start truck but it's more normal key size. Key was 45.00 and did the programming myself by following manual. I hate having fob in pocket. This programming can also work with push button start-stop fobs as well, there will be directions in owners manual. I called 4 local dealer parts departments and they all told me that only dealers can program key, more lies......

As a guy who owns and loves a Power Wagon, I appreciate the reasoning for a diesel. I would have got a Cummins personally, but you said something about your buddy looking at it to make sure you weren't making a mistake, I think all modern diesels are a financial mistake. Cummins, Powerstroke, Duramax, doesn't matter. They are all finicky, money hungry, problematic piles of junk. when I do get a Cummins eventually, I will not get anything with a 6.7. The early 07 5.9 is the newest I would get personally. But like I said, your reasoning for a diesel over the 6.4 is not at all flawed lol.

I’m at the truck just curious why you didn’t get a Ford F150 power boost I have a 2023 I average 14 towing my 6000 pound camper and I just took a trip back east cross country in it and I was averaging 25 to 30 miles per gallon. Absolutely love it I got it at Brighton Ford . I know the owner there I am the same way as far as the back-and-forth, I can’t stand it they were awesome to work with for future reference.

Aww, so your getting 10 mpg with the Diesel. 10 thousand dollars 💵 can buy a lot of gasoline. Did you figure in your oil changes? Diesel engines use a lot more oil. Did you consider def fluid? Fuel filters? Mpg doesn't tell the whole story. Are you going to have to add non gelling additive for cold winters so you can start your Diesel engine?

Funny how car dealerships can be such Aholes. The small town I live in has Ford, Mazda, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Dodge, Toyota and Chevrolet. The same guy owns Ford, Mazda, Honda, Nissan has his fingers in both Dodge and Hyundai. They have screwed me over twice so all 6 of those will never see me again. I have had a very bad experience at the dodge dealer and they are known locally as being just about hopeless when it comes time to have any work done on your vehicle. I own a GMC but I have never had anything to do with the dealer here so can't say anything about them. Toyota, ah yes, my favorite. Over the years, I have purchased 3 used vehicles from the local dealer. I was happy with the transactions. The time came to actually buy a new vehicle from them and boy did things go sideways. Same salesman that I worked with in the past, great guy, but the price of my trade, random dollars added to the deal, the price of the vehicle and the financing were all nuts. Went 50 Km down the road (30 miles) to another dealer and basically drove away with about a $10K difference. Somebody please explain how? I'm retired now, when I was working I was a field service mechanic on night shift. At one point they gave me a F550 with the 6.7 in it. Bad choice. The service truck spent hours idling at night keeping it warm inside, the lights on, the air compressor working the PTO for the crane. Idling kills these trucks. That poor thing spent more time in the shop then it did on the road. In the end they gave it to a dayshift guy, he didn't spend as much time idling as I did. I got an old Freightliner that had no DPF on it and end of problem for me. Nice Truck Justin

It’s the curse of the car guy/gal. And it cost nothing to look. But the led in our ram truck had the blinker go bad and so we had to change the whole lens for a grand total of 1400 dollars it was covered under warranty but if it wasn’t I would have burned that pile of shit to the ground
